Study On Rational Emotional Therapy Intervention In The Plight Of Elderly Unmarried Women Choosing A Spouse

According to the marriage registration data released by the National Bureau of Statistics,the marriage rate was 9.67‰ in 2011 and 8.30‰ in2016.As of 2021,the marriage rate was only 5.8‰,once a record low.The issue of marriage and love has been highly valued by families,societies and countries.It has changed from being the focus of family topics in the past to the focus of common concern of society and the state.With the development of the times and the progress of society,the form and content of human marriage form and concept have changed.Among them,more and more unmarried women have different degrees of trouble in choosing a spouse,resulting in an increasing proportion of unmarried women.Taking older unmarried women in Wuhu City as an example,this article first consults relevant domestic and foreign literature,understands the commonalities of the plight of elderly unmarried women in Wuhu City on the basis of issuing questionnaires,and then uses the interview method to conduct structured interviews with 7 interviewees of different ages,occupations,incomes and education levels.To investigate the manifestations and influencing factors of mate selection for older unmarried women.According to the survey,women’s plight in choosing a spouse mainly includes unsatisfied mate preferences,lack of opportunities and channels for choosing a spouse,and anxiety about choosing a spouse caused by internal and external conflicts,which are affected by pressure from individuals,families and society.Then,according to the typical nature of the interviewee’s mate selection problem,case-by-case service is carried out with respecting the other party’s consent,and rational emotional theory and social work practical skills are applied to the adjustment of the mate selection problem.In response to the irrational beliefs existing in the case owner in the process of choosing a spouse,the rational emotional therapy model is used to formulate case service goals and plans and intervene.Social workers refute the irrational beliefs of the case owner,so that he case owner can get rid of the old thinking mode,re-establish rational beliefs and rational thinking patterns,and assist the case owner to use REB.The T self-help scale solves similar problems encountered in the future and "self-help" through rational emotional therapy.Finally,by summarizing and reflecting on the intervention process of rational emotional therapy in the whole case service,on the one hand,it can increase the professional recognition of social work and broaden the service extension of social work.On the other hand,it can provide some reference and thinking for the rational emotional therapy model to intervene in women’s marriage selection,so as to effectively solve the plight of elderly unmarried women in choosing a spouse.
