Research On Group Work Involved In The Social Adaptation Of Migrant Children

Since the reform and opening up,many rural people have flocked to cities in order to increase their household income.With the convenience of transportation and the government’s implementation of the school policy for the children of migrant workers,some changes have occurred in the way of population mobility.Some individual labor mobility has turned into whole family mobility,and the group of migrant children has appeared in people’s field of vision.In the process of urbanization,the social adaptation problem of migrant children has gradually become prominent,which has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life.Due to the immaturity of physical and mental development,migrant children are prone to problems such as difficulty in adapting to the new environment and slow integration into the city,making the group of migrant children a particularly difficult group.The purpose of social work is to help disadvantaged groups in society,and its intervention theories and methods can provide professional services and support for migrant children,promote the physical and mental development of migrant children,solve potential social problems,and promote the healthy operation of society as a whole.Taking Y community in Wuhu City as an example,this paper firstly uses the research methods of participatory observation,questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview to understand the social adaptation of migrant children.Secondly,according to the collected data,the social adjustment problems of migrant children are organized and analyzed from four dimensions: life adjustment,school adjustment,social interaction adjustment and social psychological adjustment.The theme activities mainly help migrant children build up self-confidence,learn interpersonal skills,strengthen emotional management,adjust parent-child relationship,and cultivate a sense of urban identity.Finally,the group work was evaluated,and it was found that the parent-child relationship was improved,the city identity was enhanced,the emotional cognition ability and peer group communication ability were improved,and the interaction ability in life was gradually improved.Group activities can help migrant children ease their adaptation problems,improve their social adaptability,improve their personal social functions,and face learning and life with a positive attitude.In the research summary and prospect of this paper,the proper solution to the problem of social adaptation of migrant children cannot only rely on the power of social work,but should strengthen cooperation among various parties such as families,schools and communities.Multi-parties should pay attention to the impact of the environment on migrant children,and create a good atmosphere for migrant children to adapt to society.In addition,each subject should uphold the concept of humanistic care,build a good social support network for migrant children,and jointly find new ways and new methods for the social adaptation of this group to promote their all-round development.
