Abstract/Summary:
Social communication in adolescence is of great significance to their physical and mental development.Social withdrawal in this period is an abnormal behavior that can not be ignored.Many factors can lead to teenagers’ social withdrawal behavior,in which the quality of friendship plays a vital role.Studies have found that friendship difficulties can lead to teenagers’ social communication behavior becoming more withdrawn.On the contrary,children may shrink from positive social relationships.Previous studies have shown that in addition to the friendship quality directly related to social behavior,individual loneliness,self-worth and psychological elasticity all play an important role in teenagers’ mental health and social behavior development.In Study 1,791 students in Grade 1,grade 2 and grade 3 of Tianshui No.1 middle school were selected by simple random sampling.Children’s social behavior preference scale,children’s friendship quality questionnaire,loneliness scale,adolescent self-worth scale and psychological elasticity scale were selected for questionnaire survey.In Study 2,based on Study 1,20 children were selected for qualitative interview.In the third study,20 children with low self-worth level were selected as the group counseling objects,and they were divided into experimental group and control group.The group counseling program based on enhancing the self-worth level was formulated.The experimental group received 8 times of group counseling,and the control group did not do any counseling.The results are as follows:(1)There is no significant gender difference in social withdrawal and self-worth of adolescents.In terms of friendship quality and psychological resilience,girls were significantly higher than boys.In terms of loneliness,male students were significantly higher than female students.There were no significant differences in social withdrawal,friendship quality,loneliness,self-worth and psychological resilience among children.(2)There was a significant positive correlation between adolescents’ social withdrawal behavior and loneliness,and a significant negative correlation between adolescents’ social withdrawal behavior and friendship quality,self-worth and psychological resilience.Loneliness was negatively correlated with friendship quality,self-worth and resilience,while friendship quality was positively correlated with self-worth and resilience.There was a significant positive correlation between self-worth and resilience.(3)Loneliness and self-worth played a completely mediating role in the relationship between friendship quality and social withdrawal,and resilience played a moderating role in the relationship between loneliness and social withdrawal,friendship quality and social withdrawal.(4)Group psychological counseling with self-worth as the target can effectively enhance self-worth and reduce social withdrawal behavior.this paper discusses the relationship between adolescent friendship quality and social withdrawal behavior,and the role of loneliness,self-worth and psychological elasticity.In order to provide some theoretical basis for reducing adolescents’ social withdrawal,and also provide some reference for the group assisted intervention program to improve individuals’ sense of self-worth and reduce their social withdrawal level.
