The development of teachers’ teaching ability is the need of the connotative development of higher education and the important strategic guarantee of higher education quality.With the deep integration of mobile Internet,artificial intelligence,big data,virtual simulation and other modern information technologies with education and teaching,teachers’ teaching ability is facing more challenges.The Internet era also puts forward new requirements for universities to improve teachers’ teaching ability.Therefore,studying how local colleges and universities improve teachers’ teaching ability in the Internet era not only helps to guarantee teaching quality,but also helps to promote the development of colleges and universities themselves,thus promoting the connotative development of higher education.Based on the Internet era,guided by teacher professional development theory and developmental teacher evaluation theory,the teachers in the Internet era by literature research method.Through reading relevant documents of the Ministry of Education,this paper summarizes the new requirements for colleges and universities to improve teachers’ teaching ability in the Internet era: improve the training system of teachers’ teaching ability,improve the evaluation system of teachers’ teaching ability,improve the organization of teachers’ development,and accelerate the construction of digital campus;Guided by TPACK theory,this paper systematically and analyzes the teaching cognitive ability,teaching design ability,teaching regulation ability,teaching evaluation ability,practical teaching ability and the ability to correctly use the teaching media of local college teachers in the Internet era.Case analysis and comparative research method are used to deeply investigate and analyze the current situation of improving the six teaching abilities of teachers in local undergraduate colleges in China and find the main problems.After analyzing the causes of the problems,the author puts forward some strategies to improve teachers’ teaching ability in colleges and universities from the aspects of setting up modern teaching ideas,improving the training effect of teachers’ teaching ability,and perfecting the organization of teachers’ development.It is expected to promote the development of teacher education and management theory and provide some reference value and practical significance for local colleges and universities in China to improve teachers’ teaching ability.
