| With the development of society, people are increasingly concerned about their own internal needs.Driven by the inner needs suppressed by traditional society and culture, more and more homosexual groups are gradually increasing their self-identity,acknowledging their sexual orientation, and gradually decreasing internalized homophobia, but still facing the difficulties of family acceptance brought by "coming out".Family support is the most important part of social support for homosexual groups, and the non-acceptance attitude of parents has a negative impact on the psycho-spiritual health of homosexual groups. Therefore,it is important to explore social work approaches to alleviate the family acceptance dilemma of homosexual groups. The family acceptance dilemma faced by lesbians as part of the gay community is slightly different from that of the gay community.Traditionally, women are often disadvantaged in our society, and therefore as a marginalized group, the lesbian community faces a more unfriendly social environment. Therefore, under a feminist perspective, social workers improve the family acceptance dilemma faced by lesbian groups by intervening in their families and respecting the diversity of women’s choices and women’s power. As social workers,it is important to keep in mind social work values and research ethics when conducting casework, especially when facing special groups, such as informed consent, confidentiality, and no-harm benefit. When intervening in lesbian families, social work values such as respect,self-determination,and helping others to help themselves are particularly important. Therefore, this paper identifies interventions with lesbian families as the main landing point to analyze the family acceptance dilemma faced by lesbians through a literature review that addresses basic concepts about homosexuality, family support, and gay mental health. In this paper,a case intervention was conducted with a real lesbian family acceptance dilemma. After the interview,it was found that the individual faced problems in family communication, family power, and family members’ survival posture,so it was decided to adopt the Satir family therapy model.During the intervention,we analyzed the causes and processes of the client’s dilemma, and explored the self-acceptance dilemma and family acceptance dilemma she faced. Finally, through the basic process of case work estimation, planning, intervention, closing and evaluation, the client and family underwent positive changes in family communication, cognition and behavior, etc. The goal of this intervention was basically achieved, the family relationship returned to normal, and the personal acceptance and family acceptance difficulties faced by the client and family were effectively improved. In the current academic field in China, the research on homosexual groups in the process of social work localization is still relatively limited. In the future, with the gradual change of social attitudes of homosexual groups, the further development of homosexual social work is bound to become a key area of social work, and social workers should work together with homosexual groups, using social work theories and research methods,to reduce the many individual and social dilemmas faced by homosexual groups. |
