With the clear requirements of China’s Medium and Long Term Basic Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020),as well as the needs of the New Curriculum Reform,for high school chemistry classroom,the cultivation of students’ scientific literacy-oriented teaching mode becomes more and more prevalent.Therefore,it is required to pay attention to improving students’ scientific literacy and cultivating students’ inquiring thinking in current teaching classes.But the current teaching is the exam-oriented,teachers in the classroom rarely pay attention to the cultivation of students’ thinking ability,as well as the cultivation of hands-on ability,but only pay attention to the explanation of knowledge point,which causes students to stress knowledge point,exam,and ranking more while ability and scientific literacy is undervalued.The paper used literature review,classroom observation,interview,questionnaire,the paper mainly discusses the participation of students and the influencing factors of it,the ways to maximize students’ participation on the basis of cultivating students’ scientific literacy in Horqin High School.Through the study of psychological and external factors affecting students’ participation in class,it is concluded that a good learning attitude and motivation can promote students’ participation from the psychological level.It analyzes from the external factors that teachers’ teaching style,professional ability,expression ability,disciplinary accomplishment,attitude towards students,teacher-student relationship and so on all affect students’ initiative and enthusiasm to participate in class.From the overall perspective of the study,students like hands-on courses,such as experimental classes,and participate actively while some the effect of theory class and review class is worse.The dull of of theoretical courses,the types and styles of teachers’ lectures and so on are the main factors affecting students’ participation.Based on my own practice,the following suggestions are put forward:to create a good teacher-student relationship and a fair and equal classroom,and a good sense of scientific inquiry is developed by using clever questions and various facilities.
