| At present, the aging problem has become a great problem for the entire society. The aging of the population has a negative impact on the elderly themselves, their families, and society. Therefore, the elderly should be regarded as the key targets of our country’s care.Physical exercise is a positive way to cope with the aging of the population, and self-aging stereotypes will directly affect the exercise behavior of the elderly, and change the level of individual self-efficacy through cognition. However, the predecessors’ stereotypes and physical exercise, especially exercise persistence There are few researches on the relationship, and the research on the combination of aging stereotypes and physical exercises in the elderly is even scarce, and a complete theoretical framework system has not been formed.Through combing the literature, this research is based on the stereotype threat response model and the exercise persistence mechanism explanation model.Based on the theory of self-aging stereotypes, exercise persistence, and self-efficacy,self-efficacy is used as an intermediary variable.Hypothesis on the relationship between self-aging stereotypes and exercise persistence of urban elderly, constructs a simple intermediary model, and provides new ideas for exploring the influence mechanism of elderly exercise persistence. This article uses literature method, questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method to explore the relationship among urban elderly self-aging stereotypes, exercise persistence and self-efficacy,using the "Urban Elderly Basic Situation Survey Questionnaire","The Self-Aging Stereotype Scale, the Exercise Persistence Scale and the Self-Efficacy Scale conducted an empirical study on 491 urban elderly people in Hefei.Data analysis was conducted through SPSS 26.0,and the results showed that:(1) The self-aging stereotypes of urban elderly are at the lower-moderate level, and the positive self-aging stereotypes are higher than the negative self-aging stereotypes;the exercise persistence and self-efficacy are at the upper-moderate level.(2) There are significant differences between positive self-aging stereotypes and negative self-aging stereotypes in demographic variables such as gender, age, education, and marriage. The level of positive self-aging of female elderly is higher than that of male elderly;the older the age,the more negative the self-aging stereotype;the higher the education level and the better the health condition, the more positive the self-aging stereotype of the elderly.(3) The self-aging stereotype is significantly correlated with the persistence and self-efficacy of urban elderly people. The positive self-aging stereotype is positively correlated, and the negative self-aging stereotype is negatively correlated. The more positive the self-aging stereotype is,the higher the sense of self-efficacy and the higher the level of exercise persistence. The negative self-aging stereotype is the opposite.(4) Positive self-aging stereotypes can have a direct impact on exercise persistence.Through the mediating effect of self-efficacy,it positively predicts the urban elderly’s exercise persistence and plays a part of the mediating role, which in turn has a positive impact on exercise persistence.(5) Negative self-aging stereotypes can also have a direct impact on exercise persistence, and through the mediating effect of self-efficacy,it negatively predicts the exercise persistence of urban elderly people, and plays a part of the mediating role, which in turn has a negative impact on exercise persistence. |
