External focus of attention is a new research field on the method of instruction in motor skills learning.This article systematically sorts out the development process of focus of attention related research,breaks through the limitation of the previous focus of attention research that only used swimmers as the research object.By consulting a large number of literatures,it supplements new data for the theoretical research of swimming learning for swimming beginners.This article uses the external focus of attention in the teaching process,by changing the instruction to control the focus of attention when students learn motor skills,so as to explore the influence of the external focus of attention feedback teaching method on the breaststroke skills of 11-12 year old pupils It is expected to provide reasonable and appropriate swimming teaching methods and theoretical basis for swimming beginners and swimming coaches.This article adopts experimental methods,literature method and other experimental methods to conduct research.From the elementary school students in a club swimming training class in Zhongshan City,Guangdong Province,two classes with 40 students are selected as the experimental research objects of this research.In the experiment,the researchers used two different experimental teaching methods,the traditional teaching method and the external focus of attention feedback,to carry out the teaching experiment of breaststroke technique.After the experiment,the researcher sorted and analyzed the breaststroke performance of the experimental group and the control group.The research results show that in the stage of movement recognition,the teaching effect of traditional teaching guidance is better.After the stage of movement connection,the teaching effect of external attention focus feedback teaching guidance is better.The following conclusions are drawn through this research:(1)At different stages of exercise,the influence of focus feedback is different.The control group has better effect in the action recognition stage;the experimental group can improve the learner’s action effect more in the action connection stage and the action automation stage.(2)The teaching method of the experimental group can improve the 25-meter breaststroke speed of 11-12 year old pupils,reduce the number of arm strokes during breaststroke,and increase the stroke time of a single action.(3)The external focus of attention feedback teaching method can improve the performance index of breaststroke beginners.(4)There is no significant difference in the effect of external focus and traditional teaching methods on pupils’ height and weight.
