| With the rapid development of economy,China hosts thousands of small,medium,and mega sport events every year.There are many studies focus on the motivation of sport volunteers every year.While before the successful bid of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,the motivation of Winter Olympics volunteers haven’t received attention from researchers.Volunteers of 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games can be divided into professional volunteers and general volunteers.Different types of professional volunteers provide different kinds of enssential services.The purpose of this study was to use different methods to investigate motivations of alpine skiing professional volunteers exploratorily.The alpine skiing professional volunteers had a unique name:Alpine Ski Team.The findings of this study could be used for further professional volunteer cultivation and management.The alpine skiing volunteers were asked to complete a questionnaire designed to collect information about their motivation for participating the preparing activities of 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.The second part of questionnaire was to ask volunteers write 50 words about why they took part in the Alpine Ski Team.This part was for text mining.The third part was a scale which was designed according to volunteer functional inventory.The results showed that the professional volunteers of the Alpine Ski Team had strong motivations of Values,Social,Enhancement,Understanding.It had weak motivations of Career and Protective functions.In conclusion,first,the Alpine Ski Team expressed patriotism strongly.Second,the Alpine Ski Team were eager to make connection with more ski lovers.Third,the Alpine Ski Team had positive strivings of ego.Finally,they were eager to get professional skiing techniques.Further studies could focus on the motivation of different types professional volunteers.Further studies could also compare the motivation between professional and general Winter Olympics’ volunteers. |
