Capital,tradition,and Personality: An Anthropological Research On The New Form Of Wedding Celebration

This is an anthropological research that is based on the individual field work,which happened in the city,called G,where the wedding private customization is,which is destined to organize personalized wedding ceremonies.Through the research,it is meant to have a good knowledge of the interactional mechanism among capital,tradition,and personality during the developmental procedure of wedding ceremonies in the modern times,as well as getting insight of marital content and form,besides the transitions of Chinese marital traditions.In the research,it is found that the wedding private customization in city G,which incorporate culture and capital in a whole,that is,it is not only a kind of wedding commodity,but also a wedding ceremony.In the research,it would interpret three aspects: the first is the perspective of the companies which provide the service of having the wedding ceremonies made to order,in other words,service provider insight of personalized wedding,wedding enterprises have the personalized turn apparently,not only the more and more considerable private relationships in marketing,but also the manifestations are shown;the second is the customer perspective of individual custom-made wedding,namely from the perspective of brides and grooms,they would like to show their subjectivity and personalization in the wedding ceremony,in addition,the females have more initiative;the third is from the angle of view of the derivative forces of personalized wedding ceremonies,it promotes the transitions of marital customs,which are presented by two aspects,meaning that wedding ceremonies come into being the stage of individuality and personality of the couple gradually,and under this background,wedding companies were born according to order,furthermore,it expands and gives impetus to marital transitions.Meanwhile,the form of custom-made weddings promotes the autonomy of the younger generation on wedding decision,that is,the right of participation of elder generation.In this way,the relationship between the elderly and the young have structural changes in society.The research demonstrates that: first of all,wedding private customization is the symbol of interaction of capital and culture in the field of wedding;secondly,the existence of wedding private customization illuminates the fact that marital culture maintains its traditions partly,meanwhile,makes changes according to the development of the times in the procedure of integration between marital traditions and personality.The kernel of marital culture is steady as its forms have changed;thirdly,in the procedure of the interaction among capital,traditions,and personality,the individuality is limited manifested owing to the restriction of inherent and external factors.
