| Adolescence is the transitional stage for students to mature from tender where the junior middle school students in this stage are generally confronted with the contradiction that between the gradual maturity of sexual physiological development and the relative lag of sexual psychological development.Unbalanced physical and mental development can easily cause troubles for students.The issue of adolescent sex education for middle school students has always caused a hot debate,sex education in developed regions has been continuously promoted,and in remoter rural areas,“sex” has been shunned by people because of traditional thinking.Congjiang County,a multi-ethnic settlement,is located in Kaili,Guizhou Province with simple and honest folk custom.In this study,some students from six local junior middle schools were selected to investigate the status of local sex education in order to provide first-hand practical information for the extensive development of sex education in Guizhou’s ethnic minority areas.In this study,the survey was conducted in Congjiang County,Guizhou Province.Random cluster sampling of 837 middle school students from six local junior middle schools was used as an experimental subject and an anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted,in order to understand the status of sex education for junior middle school students in Congjiang County,Guizhou Province,Lectures and other forms,adhering to the corresponding practical teaching content based on the teaching content of junior middle school biology,are conducted in Luoxiang Middle School.And four classes in grades 7 and 8 were randomly selected to conduct independent sample T tests.Then practical teaching was carried out after the experimental conditions are meet.Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,interviews and questionnaires were used to gather test results from the subjects.Questionnaires and interviews,which is targeted on local education bureau leaders,junior middle school teachers and parents,have been conducted so as to understand the attitude of local schools and families towards sex education of junior high school students.After practical education in Luoxiang Middle School,the experiment group and the control group carried out the practice according to the teaching design.Each class randomly selected 10 students to conduct an independent sample T test.There was a significant difference in the grades of grade 7 students(P<0.001).and there was a significant difference in the grades of grade 8 students(P<0.001).The results of implementation of adolescent sexual education for 6 junior middle school students from the congjiang county in Guizhou province are presented as follows:(1)Students’ understanding of sexual physiology is improvedAfter educated by the video content and lectures,students’ understanding of sexual nouns has improved.Students in the experimental group had a better understanding of sexual nouns,and the percentage increased in comparison with the control group.To test the question that where the infant was born,there was a significant difference between the seventh-grade experimental group and the control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the eighth-grade experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).For students’ understanding of the correctness of the saying “one drop of essence and ten drops of blood”,there was a significant difference between the seventh-grade and eighth-grade experimental group and the control group(P<0.05).For self-care during menstruation,girls in the experimental group had higher awareness of self-care during the menstrual period than women in the control group.(2)Students’ understanding of sexual psychology have a little of changeCompared with the students’ knowledge of sexual psychology and their reaction to the first spermatorrhea and menstruation,girls who didn’t feel panicked to menstruation for the first time increased in proportion;In the response of the seventh-grade boy’s experimental group to the first spermatorrhea,students who were prepared to feel no panic were found to have a smaller increase compared to the control group,in the column where the experiment group and the control group chose not to panic,the proportion of students in both groups was not high.(3)Students have significant differences in sexual environment safetyWhen Compared students’ understanding of sexual safety,such as the recognition and attitude of whether the privacy part can be touched by others,self-protection when confronted with the opposite sex,etc.After the practice,the seventh-grade experiment group and the control group had two items: “Do you know how to protect yourself when you have a sexual assault?” and “Can your parents or others touch your privacy area or not without your consent?” have a Significant difference(P<0.05),and there is a significant difference(P<0.05)between the eighth-grade experiment group and the control group in “what do you know how to protect yourself when you have a sexual assault?”.(4)Views of local parents and teachers on sex educationInvestigating what local teachers believe is the most effective way for adolescent sex education,the percentage of families and schools is 41.7%.Teachers think that the greatest difficulty in the development of sex education in the local area is the highest proportion of“conceptual change”,with a percentage of 63.00%.Survey of local parents shows that at this stage,families have the greatest dilemma for children’s sex education,and 58.00% of parents think that they do not know how to teach.Research shows that it is feasible and necessary to carry out puberty sex education in the local area,local teachers and parents should improve their sexual education concept,Moreover,cross-discipline infiltration,thematic lectures,theme class meetings,debate games,video teaching and other diverse teaching forms to enhance students’ interest in learning.School education,family education,and social education should be integrated to cultivating students’ correct sexual education concepts so that students no longer feel embarrassed about sex education and can safely spend their adolescence. |
