Research On The Report Of "Lao Rongzhi Case" From The Perspective Of Gender

Since the crime rate of women is lower than that of men,when women are involved in major cases,such crime report will pay more attention to highlighting gender.Moreover,there are stigmatization and gender discrimination of women in the report texts.However,at present,most researches in the field of rule of law news report focus on female victims,and there are relatively few researches on female criminals.Therefore,this paper takes the representative case of "intentional murder,robbery and kidnapping of Lao Rongzhi" in recent years as an example,and chooses relevant reports of The Paper for research.Since its launch,The Paper has paid great attention to promoting the rule of law in China,and paid great attention to the reporting of major criminal cases,which has a certain degree of professionalism.However,when the author sorted out the news reports of major criminal cases of The Paper in the past eight years,it was found that there are still some problems in the reporting of female crimes of the media.This paper mainly takes Gender Theory as a research perspective,and analyzes the report form,content and text of the "Lao Rongzhi case" reported by The Paper.Based on the methods of Content Analysis and Textual Analysis,the case is studied,and the sample is analyzed from the macro and micro perspectives from the shallow to the deep,so as to find the existing problems in The Paper’s female crime report,and reflect on the improvement of media practitioners’ news business,social gender awareness and legal news reporting literacy from the micro level.Through analysis,it is found that in the process of reporting the case,The Paper focuses on the appearance,growth background and interpersonal relationship of the criminals,especially the emotional description of the female criminals and the opposite sex.Therefore,there are repeated settings and excessive reports on the details of the case.Meanwhile,in order to increase the story of the news report,it adopts a dramatic reporting style.Even beyond the judicial process to determine the relationship between Fa Ziying and Lao Rongzhi,resulting in the legal value of the deviation and resolution.In the aspect of image presentation,there are mainly "objectification" of the body and gender discrimination,and there are pornographic and derogatory characteristics in the image shaping of criminal women.By adding labels and reinforcing stereotyped gender temperament,the report emphasizes the occupation,education background and identity of female criminals,and constructs the quality of "ideal women" under the influence of traditional gender culture.The final chapter summarizes the problems existing in the report of female crimes on The Paper based on the aforementioned research content,and reflects on the problems and puts forward improvement strategies.
