The construction of the teacher workforce in secondary vocational schools plays a crucial role in the development of vocational education.This study aims to analyze the challenges faced in the construction of the teacher workforce in secondary vocational schools and provide relevant management recommendations.Through literature review and analysis of government documents,the dimensions and indicators of teacher workforce construction in secondary vocational schools were identified,and questionnaires and interview outlines were developed accordingly.In the investigation of public secondary vocational schools in Chengdu,it was found that there are issues such as a simultaneous existence of teacher overstaffing and understaffing,difficulties in recruiting high-skilled talents,inadequate professional competence of teachers,imperfect management systems,and lagging professional development of teachers.Further analysis reveals that the construction of the teacher workforce in public secondary vocational schools primarily involves government coordination,hierarchical management,local leadership,and participation of enterprises and other stakeholders.However,insufficient emphasis,inadequate resource allocation,incomplete institutional arrangements,unclear responsibilities between government departments and secondary vocational schools,and inadequate government supervision during the construction process can hinder the teacher workforce from meeting the demands of vocational education and social High-quality development.Based on the aforementioned analysis,this study suggests that government departments and secondary vocational schools should clarify responsibilities,coordinate division of work,and improve the institutional arrangements for teacher recruitment,teacher management,and teacher development.Various incentive measures should be adopted to provide institutional support and resources,enhance the attractiveness of the teaching profession,and realize the vision of a teacher workforce in public secondary vocational schools that can attract,utilize,teach,and develop talents effectively.The findings of this study can provide valuable insights to promote the development of secondary vocational education in Chengdu. |
