Research On University Library Socialization Service In Nanjing From The Perspective Of Public Goods

As nationwide reading campaign is promoted for all,the profound influence of the spirit of diligence in our traditional culture and the strong support of national policies in reading have led to a continuous increase in the demand for social reading.However,the resources of public libraries at present can not fully meet the readers’ demand for information acquisition.As an important part of library undertaking in China,university library has many advantages,such as large collection,strong specialties and quick renewal.Since the 1990 s,some universities in China have made an attempt to open libraries to the society.After more than 20 years of implementation and operation,the socialized service of university libraries in our country has made some achievements and built a good operation model,but there are still some deficiencies in depth and breadth compared with foreign experience.This paper studies the current situation of university library socialized service in Nanjing area,summarizes the problems and puts forward effective suggestions.This paper adopts the method of questionnaire to collect the demand of social users at all levels for the socialized service of university libraries in Nanjing.This paper investigates the current degree of socialization,model of socialized service and the specific content of socialized service of university libraries in Nanjing,comparing comparing the advanced experience and successful cases of domestic and foreign universities,and summarizes the problems in the process of socialized service of university libraries in Nanjing,including: 1.Service target,the audience narrow range;2.Large limitations of service content;3.Slow process in socialized service,lack of training and publicity on reading;4.Service awareness needs to be developed;5.Lack of scientific management system.Based on the existing problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the implementation of socialized service in Nanjing university libraries,including: 1.Use advanced concept,reasonable positioning,policy orientation and improved legislation and detailed order to promote the implementation of national policy and legal level of advocacy and support;2.Use flexibly publicity to promote the implementation of socialized service in Nanjing university libraries to social users;3.Optimize and improve the human resources of Nanjing university libraries by establishing the library professional qualification access system,paying attention to the continuing education of librarians and the performance evaluation of librarians;4.Improve the management mechanism and establish the institutional guarantee of socialized service;5.Establish cooperation between universities and enterprises.Co-construction of campus and land,optimizing the path of socialized service path through investment from enterprise,in order to connect the socialized service to the benefits of enterprise which can expand the service field and optimize the service path.
