We are currently facing an era where all life situations are penetrated by media, and through the penetration of reality, media has constructed new communicative contexts. Therefore, the transparency and concealment of "medialization" have become the reality of our existence, but the process of "penetration" through different social spaces does not bring uniform media acceptance; And when this process radiates to different social groups, the interaction between the group and the media or technology is not presented based on assumed cognition and formulaic explanations. This study places the research context within the specific "media oriented" space of hospitals, focusing on the impact of changes in the medical media ecology on the medical media practice of the elderly population, and their understanding of the role of technology. The following research questions are raised: How does the current medical media ecology affect the medical media practice of the elderly population?Based on the observation and further analysis of the medical context, the role positioning of the elderly group in media practice within this technological context, namely the way in which the elderly group "places" themselves, and how these roles are generated and transformed with the participation of media logic? Through the observation and analysis of the above phenomena, the final focus will be on the ways in which the elderly interact with technology, and then explore the cultural foundation and endogenous order in which the elderly adapt to the current medical media ecology?Specifically, the main content of this study consists of the following three parts:Firstly,we conducted a situational observation of the hospital space that is experiencing media participation. We analyzed it from three aspects: media logic, communication mode, and specific media participation, and constructed a spatiotemporal context that is being "penetrated" by the media. After explaining and reaching a consensus on the encounter between the medical system and the media system,Only through research can observation and exploration be carried out smoothly. Then, starting from the media practice of the elderly group,we conducted a deep investigation into the life direction of the elderly group. From the perspective of their life history,we summarized the specific impact of media on the elderly group’s medical treatment process, family relationships, disease cognition, social positioning, and other aspects. We also captured the significant changes and summarized the roles and power attributes(driving or hindering)of media and technology in these changes,Ultimately,it settled on the sensitivity of the elderly population to their elderly identity and disease subjects.Based on this, the third part of the cognitive research is carried out.In the changes in the thinking, behavior, and cultural foundation formed by the elderly population in the context of medical treatment, the media projects their expectations and imagination of technology, and thus breaks free from the fixed "technology follower" identity of the elderly population.Starting from the positive color carried by the "technology imagination" theory for the future order,Rethinking the relationship between the subject and technology in the technological interaction process of the elderly population based on medical practice and focused on media practice. This study uses the medium of "window" as a metaphor to illustrate the transformation process of the underlying media context and communication mode, and also represents the process of the elderly group seeking autonomy again within the media based medical system. The research on media interaction among the elderly often falls into the common analytical framework of the progress backward value binary media contradiction,as well as the persistent analysis of the reasons and strategies for the elderly to become "digital disadvantaged".The purpose of this study is not only to break away from the inherent analytical framework and depict the media practice landscape of the elderly population in this media context, but also to present a negative reality from the perspective of technical criticism. It is hoped that this study can provide a theoretical perspective for thinking about equality issues in media contexts, focusing on the corners of technological imagination, and ultimately providing practical references in answering questions about the relationship between humans and technology.
