| In recent years, the term "involution" has swept across the country, and "involution" in education has become synonymous with excessive competition in the field of basic education, which has seriously hindered the fair development of education.Due to the low overall level of my country’s educational development at the current stage,high-quality educational resources are relatively scarce and unevenly distributed, the public’s competition for high-quality educational resources has always existed, and there is an intensifying trend.City C has long been a pilot city for the national basic education policy reform, and it also faces the governance dilemma of excessive competition in basic education.Due to the continuous transmission of the competitive pressure of the college entrance examination, various stakeholders have shifted from multiple games to conspiracy of interests in order to compete for high-quality educational resources, triggering a series of irrational behaviors. As a result, from primary school to junior high school and from junior high school to senior high school, there are excessive competition phenomena such as sky-high school district housing, shadow education chaos, and fierce competition for students.Excessive competition in basic education distorts the rationality of educational value, destroys the fairness of education, and then hinders the fair development of society. This paper takes the phenomenon of excessive competition in basic education represented by the two key transition nodes of primary school to junior high school and junior high school to high school in J District of C City as the research object, and summarizes the three major governance dilemmas faced by the J district government: District admission cannot guarantee the balanced allocation of educational resources, and random allocation cannot fill the gap of degrees, the simultaneous enrollment of public and private schools cannot prevent them from competing for good students. Then, the factors that lead to excessive competition in basic education are analyzed from three aspects: first, the shortage of resources intensifies the contradiction between supply and demand of education;second, the lag of mechanism reform accelerates the differentiation of education;third, the value deviation induces irrational competition in education. On this basis,in view of how to curb the phenomenon of excessive competition in basic education and improve the unbalanced allocation of educational resources,we try to put forward policy suggestions from three aspects: first, strengthen the top-level design of basic education reform, and guide basic education to return to value rationality through policies.Secondly, trace the source to solve the problem fundamentally, and promote the balanced development of basic education by optimizing the allocation of resources. Finally,in line with the development requirements of the times, promote the rational development of education by deepening the reform of the mechanism. It is hoped that it can alleviate the current excessive competition in basic education in City C,promote the return of education to the original intention, cultivate more outstanding talents for the country and society, and enhance the innovation ability of economic and social development. |
