A Study Of Marx’s Thought On Ethnic Equality And Its Contemporary Implications

In the Marxist theory of ethnic groups,Marx’s idea of ethnic equality plays a pivotal role.Ethnic equality is the prerequisite and foundation for ethnic unity and the realization of common prosperity and wealth for all ethnic groups.Only when ethnic equality in the true sense is realized can ethnic unity and social harmony and stability be ensured.Therefore,ethnic equality is not just a theory,but should be the basic policy for treating ethnic issues,the basis for the formulation of ethnic equality policy,and provides the method and fundamental pointers for dealing with ethnic relations in China.Under the new situation of comprehensively building a socialist modern state,safeguarding ethnic equality and promoting the common prosperity of all ethnic groups embody the Chinese practice of Marx’s theory of ethnic equality,which is of great value to the construction of China’s socialist modern state,as well as to the promotion of ethnic equality in the world,the harmony of the world’s ethnic groups and the building of a community of human destiny.According to Marx,the issue of ethnic equality has taken different forms in different historical periods.With worldwide modernization and more emphasis on economic and social development in various countries,peace and development have become the theme of the world nowadays.Therefore,how to achieve peaceful development and win-win cooperation is the common problem of all countries and the goal of all peoples in the world.This issue is projected and manifested in the issue of ethnic equality,thus making the conflict between ethnic groups manifest in a new way.Therefore,it is inevitable that it will continue to be developed along with the development of the ethnic question.Marx’s theory of ethnic equality and the methodology it implies are important guides to the ethnic question today.Therefore,on the basis of interpreting the original text of Marx’s classic work and taking the solution of today’s ethnic problems in China and the world as the starting point,this paper conducts a systematic and in-depth study of Marx’s thought on ethnic equality,further explores the rich resources of Marx’s thought on ethnic equality,and provides better theoretical and methodological support for understanding and solving the problem of ethnic equality in the new era.This paper on Marx’s idea of ethnic equality is developed from the following five aspects.Part Ⅰ: Introduction.In this part,the basis for the selection of the research topic is elaborated,the current situation of the research is reviewed,and the research ideas and research methods of the thesis are explained and justified.Part Ⅱ: Discusses the practical basis and theoretical origin of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality.No theory can come out of thin air;it must have a realistic foundation and theoretical origin.Therefore,this part first explores the real basis of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality,and then explores the theoretical sources of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality.Part Ⅲ: Discusses the evolutionary process and historical status of Marx’s thought of ethnic equality.First,the evolutionary process of Marx’s thought of ethnic equality is combed with Marx’s classical texts,and its evolutionary logic is accounted for one by one;then,the importance of Marx’s thought of ethnic equality to Marxist theory of ethnic groups,Marxist ethnic programs,and the handling of ethnic issues is clarified.Part Ⅳ: Focuses on the analysis of Marx’s thought of ethnic equality.This part mainly analyzes the main contents of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality: including the emergence of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality,the root causes of ethnic inequality,the essence of ethnic equality,the ways to achieve ethnic equality,the relationship between ethnic equality and the proletarian revolution,and the significance of achieving ethnic equality.It then discusses the basic characteristics of Marx’s thought on ethnic equality,including the characteristics of class,criticality,historicity,and practicality.Part Ⅴ: This part mainly analyzes the revelation of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality to China’s handling of ethnic relations and its concrete practice.Based on Marxist theory and the reality of China’s ethnic policy,this paper carries out an analytical study on the revelation of China’s handling of ethnic relations;finally,it analyzes and elaborates the performance of Marx’s idea of ethnic equality in concrete practice from the specific practical situation of China.
