Ethnic equality is the basic principle of Marx and Engels towarded the national issues. Marx and Engels's ethnic equality theory developed based on the profound social background, critical inheritance of bourgeois ideology of national equal and socialist ideas. It developed with the proletarian revolution and nationality movements practice also. This theory's establishment undergone three periods: the process of the bud, the process of establish and develop and the process of deepening and improving. After nearly half a century, Marx and Engels's ethnic equality theory formed a perfect scientific theory system which contains rich contents. Marx and Engels insisted on the equality of all ethnic groups, they revealed the root causes of ethnic inequality, pointed out the path of ethnic equality, analyzed the relationship between ethnic equality and the proletarian revolution and clarified the ethnic equality significance.Marx and Engels's ethnic equality theory still has strong vitality in contemporary. It has great value both on our socialistic harmonious society building and global ethnic equality and harmonious national relationship promotion in the world.
