| Campus security in colleges is firmly connected with social stability, national development, and country prosperity. As a public emergency with great destructive influence,sudden-death in college students’ sports is one of the most key and difficult work of campus security. In this paper, recent cases were analyzed during the entire proceeding, especially the one in University Z,guided by theories such as synergistic governance and crisis management. When colleges try to solve sudden-death cases, problems would emerge such as insufficient supply in safety education, the lack of early physical examination, flaws in college safety management, ineffective mobilization on the scene, and imperfect coordination mechanism in the aftercare. Some reasons were found from perspectives of students themselves, parents, colleges and society. Some constructive suggestions were put forward such as improvement of safety education cooperation, interactive physical examination, better working plans for sudden-death,strengthening social mobilization for crisis management, and a coordinated work mechanism for the aftercare of dead students, based on the interaction and cooperation of all roles.A multi-governance model was founded in which roles like college, government, students, media and social organizations could all participate and cooperate together in order to improve the level of synergistic governance of sudden-death in college students’ sports, which provids a solid guarantee for maintaining college safety and promoting university inner governance. |
