Study On The Ritual Communication Of The "Deputies’ Passage" Of The Two Sessions

It has been six years since the first meeting of the 13 th National People’s Congress first arranged for the opening of the "Deputies’ Passage" press interview activities.From the perspective of ritual communication,the press conference is an exhibition of the ritual process.As a kind of "channel" press conference with Chinese characteristics,the "Deputies’ Passage" tells China’s social development and people’s life through individual narratives,which is not only a kind of political information dissemination,but also a kind of political ritual construction.This paper uses theories related to ritual communication to study 14 press releases and 115 interviews with NPC deputies through content analysis and case analysis method,and analyzes how the press release of "Deputies’ Passage",as a media event,becomes a The rituals were performed to enable the participants to interpret the shared meanings and emotions of the various symbols.It explores how the "Deputies’ Passage" of the National People’s Congress constructs a ritual to achieve the effects of consolidating social consensus,strengthening national identity,and demonstrating China’s confidence.The study found that the "Deputies’ Passage" carries out ritual performances through fixed time and space arrangements,fixed interview and speech procedures,and fixed role participation.The narrative text of the "Deputies’ Passage" is closely related to the state’s major policies and changes with policy adjustments and the development of the times.Media reporters and NPC deputies jointly complete the act of "telling stories" and transmit the narrative content of national policies or reform and development through micro-narratives.The "Deputies’ Passage" enhances the audience’s cultural memory and group identity and generates emotional resonance,thereby forming a sense of ritual in communication.As a group symbolizing a specific identity,the "NPC deputy" group constructs the audience’s recognition and political trust in society and the country through oral expression,thereby strengthening their sense of identity and mission as NPC deputies.As an important platform for telling China’s story,the "Deputies’ Passage" of the National People’s Congress provides a window for the world to observe China through ritualized media performances.In the new era,to make good use of the "Deputies’ Passage" as a media ritual,efforts should be made to improve the audience’s sense of ritual participation,enrich the themes of topic settings,and enhance the media literacy of NPC deputies,so that the audience can have a stronger sense of participation in this ritual and the "Deputies’ Passage" can better demonstrate the superiority of China’s NPC system and the important window role in reflecting "people’s democracy throughout the entire process."...
