Research On The Critical Thought Of Modernity Contained In The Communist Manifesto

The development mode of modernity has greatly improved the survival and development level of human beings,but it has also brought many contradictions and difficulties.Marx and Engels’ critique of capitalist society in the Communist Manifesto is actually a critique of "modernity".The "modernity" in the Communist Manifesto essentially refers to an empirical fact,which is the living conditions of people stipulated by the capitalist mode of production.In the Manifesto,the founder of Marxism was neutral in the modern capitalist society,revealing the normative basis and internal logic of modernity,and completing the most essential criticism of modernity.At the same time,the Declaration also emphasized the generation and awakening of the consciousness of the new historical subject(the proletariat),this reveals the main force and correct direction of the reconstruction of modernity,and points out the broad prospect of communism in the development of modernity.The study of the thought of modernity criticism contained in the Communist Manifesto is conducive to understanding and examining the modernity of Chinese society again through the scientific horizon and dimension of modernity criticism,and promoting the vivid practice of Chinese path to modernization.This paper explains the theoretical context of the Communist Manifesto from the perspective of modernity criticism,and analyzes the logic context and main content of the Communist Manifesto on "modernity criticism",as well as the enlightenment of this modernity criticism on China’s socialist modernization practice.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part puts forward the concept of "modernity" as the survival situation of human beings through the etymological tracing of "modernity" and "modernity" and the analysis of their multiple meanings,thus elaborating the unique understanding and recognition of "modernity" by the founder of Marxism in the Communist Manifesto.The second part discusses the logical context and main content of "modernity criticism" in the Communist Manifesto,points out that the Communist Manifesto launched a dialectical criticism of capitalism from the perspective of social existence,points out the dialectical generation of the proletariat as a new historical subject,and points out that communism is the historical foothold of modernity criticism.The third part aims to analyze the Significance of the Modernity Criticism of the Communist Manifesto to the Practice of Chinese path to modernization.Combine the modernity criticism thought contained in the Communist Manifesto with the practice of Chinese path to modernization in combination with the reality of China today.
