A Study On The Intervention Of Social Work In The Mutual Help Elderly Care Model Of "The Young-old Help The Old-old" In Urban Community

In recent years,with the deepening of the aging population and the speeding up of the urbanization process,our country is facing great elderly care pressure.How to better face the growing elderly population,while reducing the burden of social elderly care,to better meet the diversified needs of the elderly,has become a social problem to be solved.With the transformation of urban economic and social structure and family structure,the traditional family elderly care has been unable to well meet the diversified needs of the elderly.Urban community mutual help elderly care emerged at the historic moment has become a new way to cope with the increasingly severe problem of population aging and better meet the needs of the elderly.Elderly care is an important field of current social work.In recent years,social work has actively involved in urban community elderly care,providing professional guidance and support,and carried out fruitful exploration in the field of " the young-old help the old-old " mutual elderly care,promoting the formation and development of this mode of elderly care.In this process,social work not only gives full play to its professional advantages,but also encounters some difficulties and problems.However,there are few studies on the mode of " the young-old help the old-old " in urban communities,and even fewer studies from the perspective of social work practice.Therefore,this study is of great importance and urgency.This study takes the intervention of social work in the mutual help elderly care mode of " the young-old help the old-old " in L Street,Guangzhou as an example.Under the guidance of active aging theory and social exchange theory,this study adopts the method of combining literature research and field research to study the intervention of social work in the mutual help elderly care mode of " the young-old help the old-old ".This study first introduced and analyzed the background of the mutual help elderly care mode of " the young-old help the old-old " in L street.Then take the specific intervention content of social work in the mode of " the young-old help the old-old " as the writing logic.This paper analyzes and discusses in detail the specific content and process of social work intervention from four aspects,namely,improving the service ability of the “the young-old” volunteers,building a platform for mutual help elder care in community,providing elderly care services for the "old-old" group,and providing supervision and support for the "young-old" group.It is found that social work has achieved the following results in the intervention of "the young-old help the old-old " mutual help elderly care service in L street: It builds a mutual care platform to ensure the continuity of service;It enriches the life of the elderly and meets the diversified needs of the community;It broadens the main body of the supply of elderly care service and enrich the resources of community elderly care service;It creates a community atmosphere of mutual support for the aged and promotes the change of suitable aging environment.Social work has the following successful experiences in the process of intervention: combining the advantages of "social worker + the young-old volunteers" as the main body of service;keeping a dynamic follow up of the service object by creating file;following the principle of individuation;attaching importance to the establishment of professional relationships;paying attention to the cultivation of key volunteers;attaching importance to the linking and integration of resources.At the same time,there are several shortcomings: Social workers lack of management awareness,service management system has not been implemented and improved;Social workers’ design of service forms is simple and inflexible;Social worker occupation mobility is large,which affects the practice of mutual help care;Volunteer training work is not in place,the team development is slow.Finally,the following improvement strategies are put forward: Enhance the awareness of social workers’ service management,formulate and implement the service management system;Integrate resources to build a multifunctional platform for mutual help elderly care;To retain talents,pay attention to the support and training of social workers,and develop service management manuals;improve the training mechanism for volunteers and lower the service entry threshold.
