A Study Of Lenin’s Socialist Modernization Thought

Modernization refers not only to the macro-historical process of transition from traditional society to modern society,but also to the development trend of backward countries constantly transforming themselves and exploring multiple fields to adapt to the requirements of modern society.Throughout the history of modernization,first of all,the modernization of the world started in the West and was a social change that came with industrialisation.Marx and Engels criticized and negated capitalist modernity from multiple perspectives of "capital".Secondly,Lenin,based on Russia’s specific conditions,insisted on using Marxism to guide practice on the basis of criticism of the ills of modernity,and carried out an in-depth exploration of socialist modernization,making people’s understanding of socialist modernization a great step forward.Finally,on the basis of the long-term exploration and practice since the founding of New China,especially since the reform and opening up,and after the innovative breakthroughs in theory and practice since the 18 th National Congress,the CPC has successfully promoted and expanded Chinese-style modernization.Lenin’s idea of socialist modernization has propelled the Marxist theory of modernization from criticism to construction,and has also contributed to the enrichment and development of the world theory of socialist modernization.Living at the turn of the 19 th and 20 th centuries,Lenin analysed the special political,economic and cultural situation in Russia and devoted himself to the Russian revolutionary movement and the defence of the truth of Marxism.After the October Revolution,the Bolshevik Party was faced with the historic question of how to consolidate the new regime and how to build socialist modernity in a backward Russia.Lenin led Soviet Russia in exploring the road to socialist modernization,and in the course of his exploration,he gained a new understanding of and thought more deeply about the construction of the road to socialist modernization in the light of Russia’s national conditions,and put forward many incisive ideas and theses.The main elements of Lenin’s thought on socialist modernization include: raising the productive forces in the form of state capitalism to consolidate the material foundation;raising the cultural level and education of the whole population to build a firm foundation for culture and education;promoting the modernization of man and realising the free and comprehensive development of man to ensure the main line of construction;and so on,constituting a series of rich theories on socialist modernization.Lenin’s ideological line of combining the basic principles of Marxism with the concrete reality of Russia,his scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts and starting from reality,and his pioneering spirit of daring to develop and innovate,provide us with important methodological inspiration.Chinese modernization is not a "rehash" or "reprint" of the Western model,but rather an "original" version that breaks with the Western model and optimizes the new paradigm in its construction.In the context of globalisation,Chinese modernization is based on national conditions,adheres to the basic position of Marxism,comprehensively implements Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,promotes high-quality economic development,places modernization in the context of comprehensive human development,and returns the ultimate pursuit of modernization to the needs of people themselves,the needs of the people.
