Study On The Influence Of Living Environment And Government Trust On The Public’s Sense Of Security

Security is one of the basic psychological needs of the public,which includes the public’s desire for stability and security.In the period of rapid development and social transformation in China,a series of social emergencies,social security problems and the loss of government trust that are contrary to people’s growing needs for a better life inevitably arise,all of which touch the bottom line of public psychological safety.With the development of the Internet,all kinds of negative information in society are frequently published,coupled with serious social differentiation,the needs of public life are more personalized,the demand for interests is more diverse,and social contradictions are becoming increasingly prominent,resulting in the loss of public security,and the factors affecting the public’s sense of security are more personalized,diversified and complex.Public security is a key measure of the public’s quality of life and happiness,and the party and the government regard the issue of improving public happiness and security as a major issue that needs to be solved urgently.Most of the research on public security has focused on the psychological perspective,the public sense of security under the perspective of psychology emphasizes personal characteristics and emphasizes the influence of personal growth experience on the formation of security,while the public sense of security from the sociological perspective emphasizes the role of the public’s social environment on the public’s sense of security.At present,there are inquiries on the influencing factors of security,most of which are conducted through sample surveys with regional characteristics,and most of them emphasize the impact of factors related to crime and social security on the public’s sense of security.With the current development of the social Internet and the further improvement of the degree of modernization of the country,the public is more concerned about other factors that affect the sense of security in addition to the basic social security,such as living environment,food safety,and the service level of the government and its staff.The data used in this study were the survey data of the China Comprehensive Survey of Social Conditions in 2017,and after selecting the study samples and eliminating the invalid samples,a total of 8059 valid samples were obtained in this study.Measuring the overall social security situation in the questionnaire,USing SPSS24.0 software,the possible impact of the living environment and government trust on the public’s sense of security was analyzed,and the demographic characteristics,whether the Internet access and the perception of social fairness were used as control variables were used to study whether the two dimensions of living environment and government trust had an impact on the public’s sense of security by means of disorderly and multi-classification logistic regression statistical analysis The Bootstrap method is used to test whether there is a mediating effect between the living environment and the public’s sense of security,and combines the risk society theory with the environmental stress theory in environmental psychology to propose countermeasures to enhance the public’s sense of security.Through empirical analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:First of all,the overall level of public security in China is high,and there are internal differences in public security.First,there are significant differences between age and gender groups.The younger the age,the more insecure society is perceived,and the level of security in women is lower than that of men.Second,the per capita household income level,education level,and party members with certain political attributes all have a significant impact on the public’s sense of security.Those with higher per capita household incomes consider society to be relatively safe,while education levels have a negative impact on public security,and party members are more likely to think that society is safer.Third,whether the public is online also has an important impact on the level of public security.The level of public security that does not go online is higher than that of the public on the Internet,indicating that the development of the Internet and new media has had a certain negative impact on the public’s sense of security.Fourth,the perception of social fairness is an important influencing factor of the public’s sense of security,and the public’s belief in social fairness is the same as the belief that social security is higher.Secondly,from the point of the influence of living environment,the objective situation of public living environment and subjective evaluation has a certain influence on public security,such as public living environment satisfaction,social security performance evaluation and neighborhood trust difference makes the level of public security difference,three variables have positive impact on public security,and living area type and family relationship satisfaction does not have significant influence on the public security.However,among the groups that the society is not safe,the variables of living environment have different effects on their sense of security.Therefore,while improving the quality of the public living environment,it is necessary to pay attention to the needs of groups with low level of public security and carry out the "targeted poverty alleviation" of the public sense of security.Finally,from the perspective of the influence of government trust,the public trust in the government’s service and work level has been strengthened,while the government trust significantly affects the level of public security,the higher the degree of government trust,the higher the level of public security.There is a significant intermediary role between government trust in living environment and public sense of security.In the context of rapid development and differentiated development,there is a big difference between public security under the difference of public living environment,and depends on the improvement of government trust.The living environment not only directly affects public security,but also indirectly affects public security through the intermediary role of government trust factors.In this regard,on the basis of the research conclusions,combined with the theory of risk society and environmental psychology,this paper proposes specific countermeasures to further enhance the public’s sense of security,create a socially fair environment,improve the quality of the public living environment,and build a harmonious and safe society;attach importance to the restoration of government trust and prevent the loss of government trust;strengthen the governance of the network environment,and strengthen the positive guidance of public opinion.
