Research On The Construction Of Collective Memory In People’s Daily’s 70th Anniversary Report Of The War To Resist US Aggression And Aid Korea

The war to resist US aggression and aid Korea was a glorious war of great significance in China’s modern history.It resisted imperialist aggression and expansion,safeguarded the security of new China,safeguarded the peaceful life of the Chinese people,stabilized the situation on the Korean Peninsula and safeguarded peace in Asia and the world.In the magnificent war,the heroic Chinese people’s volunteers forged a great spirit,which spans time and space and is renewed over time.It must be inherited and carried forward from generation to generation.People’s daily is the most authoritative newspaper in China.Adhering to the historical mission of the newspaper of the central organ of the party,it records the changes and history of Chinese society and people.In the past,the research most focused on the communication strategy and the war propaganda methods,and paid less attention to the research on the collective memory of the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea.This study puts the topic research of the report on the war.From the perspective of collective memory,this study not only supplements the war research,but also carries forward the great spirit of the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea and enhance national cohesion and collective memory.Reporting text is an important way for society to construct collective memory.From a macro perspective,the report text is the presentation of constructive meaning.In order to know the construction and influence of collective memory reported by People’s daily,the author chose 49 news reports published as the research object.Through the analysis,the author believes that report which gives a new era connotation to the collective memory of the 70 th anniversary of the war and figures the meaning as "courageous progress and peaceful development".Build the audience’s collective memory with the theme of activities commemorating the 70 th anniversary of the war,speeches and trends of state leaders,views and evaluations of people from all walks of life on resisting US aggression and aiding Korea,reports on heroes and the spirit of the war,and other newspaper works(stage art,documentary and other literary works).In the micro text construction,the high-frequency words are focusing on "China","greatness","spirit","people" and "peace",focusing on the memory of the historical recurrence and commemorative activities of the war.In the historical memory,it describes the heroes in many directions and angles,and emphasizes the historical facts of the war.In the aspect of emotional construction tendency,positive emotions are the main part,showing high-spirited and forward emotions.In the aspect of discourse analysis,in the historical memory,the heroes of the war are described in various directions and angles,and the historical facts of the bloody war are emphasized.In the warning memory,words such as "peace","development" show that Chinese seek to protect world peace in the historical memory of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea.The People’ s Daily constructed the collective memory of the war mentioned above,which has a great influence in the dimensions of goal,and advances layer by layer in empathy and progress.Specifically,in terms of emotional identity,historical memory evokes empathy;In the aspect of practical identity,realistic memory condenses consensus;In terms of goal identity,collective memory has an important impact on motivation and progress.
