With the acceleration of the aging process of China’s social population, the rural elderly are facing increasingly severe pension problems. In order to protect the elderly amblyopia groups in rural areas and realize the real sense of "providing for the elderly",the State Council promulgated and implemented the basic old-age insurance system for urban and rural residents. With the continuous advancement of policy work, whether the basic old-age insurance system for urban and rural residents can really enable rural elderly residents to achieve "a sense of security for the elderly" should ultimately be reflected in whether it can improve the quality of life of rural elderly people. As one of the basic dimensions of a better life, leisure behavior is undoubtedly an embodiment of people’s quality of life.By selecting the data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS),firstly, the OLS and logit models are constructed.Secondly,RDD and IV methods are used to deal with the endogeneity of the model.Starting from the reality of the leisure behavior of the rural elderly in China, the rural elderly are taken as the research object to reflect the leisure behavior from the two dimensions of leisure participation and leisure frequency,This paper explores the impact of basic old-age insurance for urban and rural residents on the leisure behavior of rural elderly from three aspects: whether to receive old-age pension, whether to buy old-age insurance and whether to participate in the "new rural insurance".The results show that:(1)receiving pensions and subsidies increased the leisure participation rate by 33.9%,purchasing endowment insurance increased the leisure participation rate by 47.3%,and participating in the "new rural insurance" increased the leisure participation rate by 12.5%.(2)Receiving pensions and subsidies increased the standardized leisure frequency index by 0.119,purchasing endowment insurance increased the standardized leisure frequency index by 0.220,and participating in the "new rural insurance" increased the standardized leisure frequency index by 0.121.According to the research results, this study further analyzes the impact of urban and rural basic old-age insurance on the leisure behavior of rural elderly, and on this basis, combined with relevant old-age insurance theories, puts forward suggestions to improve the urban and rural basic old-age insurance system,in order to better promote the leisure behavior of rural elderly. |
