The wave of globalization and urbanization not only leads to the formation of highly dependent economic activities among major cities worldwide,but also makes the diversity and characteristics of regional culture gradually decline due to the rapid expansion of the number of cities and the influx of population.In the global village of media-based existence,people’s understanding of a city depends more on the virtual image of "media reality".Media and cities are closely linked.As a kind of "soft power" and intangible asset of a city,media image plays an important role in economic development,talent introduction,investment attraction and social life.This thesis analyzes the transformation of urban image positioning and hot cases from the perspective of interdisciplinary and multi-specialty,using qualitative and quantitative research methods of content analysis.First of all,the first part interprets the connotation and context of urban image,and focuses on the interdependent relationship between the construction and dissemination of urban image.Based on the industrial characteristics of social culture and economic development of Xiamen city,the city image is divided into five categories: political and economic image,social and cultural image,ecological environment image,tourism exhibition image and citizen image.The second part based on the strategic solution,uses quantitative research method to sort out the reports on urban image in Xiamen Daily(2010-2020)in ten years,and deeply analyzes the historical evolution and connotation representation of Xiamen’s urban image positioning.Based on the meaning of Xiamen city image present situation,this thesis discusses the realistic possibility of transforming from "garden on the sea" to "gate of mansion" city image.This thesis focuses on the multi-dimensional observation of Xiamen city image and the identity attachment and contradiction between the multi-subjects of image construction.And from the three main levels of government,society and individual citizens,this thesis deeply analyzes the promotion strategy and operation mode of Xiamen’s urban image communication power under.The third part takes the description and explanation as the starting point,selects the largest BRICS meeting in Xiamen in recent years as the case for empirical research,and explores the narrative mode and communication means of the official discourse of the most influential party media in Xiamen when they spread the image of the city.At the same time,using qualitative research method to "1998 cifit","Xiamen Marathon","golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival","strait tourism expo","leisure tourism expo" five exhibitions held in Xiamen content analysis.From the exhibition,the relationship between the industry and the city,the theme forum of the exhibition,the industry hot spots and the content of the exhibition area,the presentation of Xiamen city image in various dimensions and the coupling mechanism and interaction between the exhibition and the city image are analyzed.This thesis emphasizes that the construction of city image should be based on the city’s own advantages and environmental characteristics,the positioning of city image should not only highlight the regional significance and difference,but also reflect the history and humanity of the city with the development of the city.At the same time,in the context of integrated media,the multi-subjects of urban image communication gradually eat away the influence of traditional party media.In this era,it is necessary not only to enhance the discourse narrative and competitive advantages of traditional party media in urban image communication,but also to monitor,guide and manage the urban image unintentionally constructed in the independent communication content of multi-subjects.
