Research On The Improvement Of Qingdao’s Competitiveness Based On Residents’ Happiness Index

Urban competitiveness is the concrete embodiment of the comprehensive strength of the city and an important source of potential for the future development of the city.With the acceleration of economic globalization,China’s economic and social development has also undergone major changes,mainly manifested in the economy from high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality development,urban development from speed-based construction to quality-based construction,and the pursuit of the joint improvement of residents’ happiness index and urban competitiveness has become the highest goal of urban development and construction.As a famous coastal city in the east and a city under the national plan,Qingdao has unique location advantages and resource resources.However,Qingdao is still a developing city,and the contradiction between the city’s development goals and the city’s status,development needs,and resource environment is still relatively prominent.By scientifically evaluating the urban competitiveness of Qingdao based on the residents’ happiness index,the paper can effectively find the problems existing in the process of improving Qingdao’s urban competitiveness and put forward targeted measures to improve competitiveness.Taking Qingdao’s urban competitiveness as the research object,combined with the development status and development direction of Qingdao’s urban competitiveness,based on the theory of competitive advantage,evaluation theory and sustainable development,the literature research method is used to determine the evaluation indicators of urban competitiveness based on the residents’ happiness index,and a targeted evaluation system is constructed.Through the empirical analysis of the relevant index data of Qingdao from 2012 to 2021,it reveals the current problems that restrict the improvement of Qingdao’s urban competitiveness.Finally,from the four aspects of economic foundation,infrastructure,public services and ecological environment,we have formulated to accelerate the upgrading of industrial structure and develop the economic circle of urban agglomeration.We will build a comprehensive transportation system,build a digital smart city,establish a government-civilian communication system,promote the green development of industry,and improve the quality of human settlements.The research results will help Qingdao City to correctly understand its own competitive status,situation,opportunities and challenges,promote Qingdao City to formulate and improve the overall plan for urban development,better implement the people-centered development idea,maximize the release of urban economic vitality,and upgrade in a new round of urban competition.
