Young people are the most dynamic group in human development and represent a bright future for countries and nations.Since entering the new era,the domestic and international situations facing China’s development have undergone profound changes, and under the wave of economic globalization, various ideologies have become complicated, and young people have also presented many new characteristics and problems. In this critical period, combined with the emerging reality, effectively analyzing and solving the development problems of young people and helping young people grow up healthily is an important content of current youth research,so we need to return to Marx and Engels ’ view of youth to seek answers.Marx and Engels always regarded young people as the object of focus, especially the proletarian youth group as a force that can be relied on in the future, through the criticism of capitalist society and the construction of the future ideal society, formed an ideological exposition on the main contents of youth survival and development, ideal pursuit, marriage emotions and other main contents, with clear layers and clear organization to present us with attitudes, views and propositions for youth development, and can still radiate strong vitality when facing the current youth problems.Using Marx and Engels ’ view of youth to guide the current development of youth groups is an innovation of its classic theory in combination with the practice of national reform and construction in the new era,and it is also a scientific guide for us to research and solve youth-related problems.Through the study of the classic texts of Marx and Engels,as well as the review of scattered monographs and letters, this article extracts his main ideological expositions on youth, which are divided into four parts. In the first part, this paper summarizes the research background, purpose and significance, the current status of research at home and abroad, and the review of the current research status, sorts out the basic issues of Marx and Engels’ view of youth, and provides a research basis. In the second part, this paper analyzes the formation and development of Marx and Engels’ view of youth, clarifies that the capitalist mode of production, the practice of proletarian revolution and the influence of the youth group itself on the society at that time are the background of the formation of Marx and Engels’ view of youth, and points out that the ancient Greek philosophical thought,German classical philosophy, and utopian socialism are the theoretical basis for its formation.Through the study of texts in different periods, the development process of ideological and theory from germination, formation and perfection is divided, and it is fully realized that Marx and Engels’ view of youth is mature in the continuous breakthrough of theory and practice. In the third part, this paper systematically expounds the main contents of the youth concept from the expositions of Marx and Engels on the nature and characteristics of youth, status and role, education and cultivation, love and marriage, and morality and occupation, and further summarizes the theoretical characteristics of its thinking with epochal, class and practical nature, and clarifies the rich connotation of Marx and Engels’ view of youth. In the fourth part, this paper combines classical ideas with the specific reality of the development of the times, discusses the Marx and Engels view of youth from the theoretical level, and provides certain theoretical guidance for developing contemporary youth theory,in-depth youth work, and solving the practical problems of youth. From a practical point of view,it can build the ideal and belief of the Chinese dream of young people, help young people grow into talents, promote the all-round development of youth education, and clarify the vitality contained in classical ideas.
