Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core,the status of rural women in China has undergone significant changes.Previously,the academic circles have paid too much attention to and discussed the weak position and passive discourse power of rural women as women.In the context of the rapid development of social media,this paper broadens the research horizon to the initiative and initiative of rural women themselves.In this paper,10 rural women from XX Township,Gushi County,Xinyang City,Henan Province were selected,and the rural women blogger on Tik Tok platform,Sister Peach,was selected as the research object.Starting from the theory of self-presentation and carnival,in-depth interview and case analysis are adopted to explore the media image of rural women under the background of social media empowerment.The study found that social media highlights the subjectivity consciousness of rural women’s self-development,and economic income generation has become the main driving force of rural women’s subjectivity construction.Through content production and social needs,rural women bloggers have become "opinion leaders",which will not only improve their lives,but also have a good driving effect on other rural women groups.Based on the successful experience of rural women blogger Tik Tok short video entrepreneurship,the social effect of Tik Tok short video empowerment of rural women is summarized.Finally,by summarizing the practical dilemma of social media empowerment in rural women,some useful suggestions are discussed to highlight the practical application value of this study.
