Since its reform and opening up,China has developed a unique theory of human rights with Chinese characteristics on issues such as "the right to survival and the right to development as the primary human rights","the special and universal nature of human rights" and "human rights and sovereignty".Socialist human rights theory.Since the 18 th Party Congress,China’s human rights achievements have been obvious to all,but it has often been criticised and vilified by Western countries.The fundamental reason for China’s passivity on human rights issues is that Western countries dominate the current international human rights discourse system and control the power of international human rights discourse.At present,China has not yet established a strong human rights discourse system of its own,and it is difficult to grasp the power of human rights discourse,so it is still subject to the control of others in judging human rights.As social media has become the main channel for news,this article have attempted to explore international communication strategies for China’s human rights theory and practice through social media platforms,in order to enhance China’s human rights discourse.Chinese human rights discourse is the interpretation and elaboration of the concept of human rights in China,and is also the concrete manifestation of the implementation of Chinese human rights discourse.Faced with the new features of social media,Chinese human rights discourse should transform the language of the human rights field into the language of the whole society,so that everyone can understand and listen to it.Chinese human rights stories are the best expressions of Chinese human rights discourse,showing easy-to-understand real content,so that others can actively internalise and accept Chinese human rights concepts and views.This article uses YouTube,the world’s largest video search and sharing platform,as the research platform,and the “CGTN” account as the main research object,to explore the current situation of the international dissemination of Chinese human rights stories.Through content analysis and case study analysis,this paper explores the shortcomings and dilemmas of the international dissemination of China’s human rights stories and proposes corresponding strategies to solve them.The study concludes that,in the face of the complex and scattered human rights content,the dissemination of China’s human rights stories must be systematised,with a top-down systematic "king" communication structure built;a macro and micro Chinese human rights story told well;and a matrix of Chinese human rights communication formed by linking other platforms.Given the sensitivity of human rights content,the central government must control the general direction of international communication of human rights discourse,while localities,organisations and individuals should play a flexible role on this basis and participate in the international communication of China’s human rights story.In addition,The communication methods and content of Chinese human rights stories need to be adapted to the characteristics of the You Tube platform and audience,to meet the expectations of Western audiences and to achieve effective communication.
