Study On The Youth National Salvation Association In Taiyue Revolutionary Base During The Anti Japanese War

During the Second Sino-Japanese War period,the Communist Party of China led a large number of patriotic young people to take part in the struggle to resist Japan and save the nation from subjugation and to achieve national independence.The Taiyue Revolutionary Base Area Youth Salvation Society was a youth anti-Japanese and national salvation organisation established by the CPC in the Taiyue area.It organised countless disorganised youths and children to participate in the construction of the base area,strengthening the effectiveness of the leadership of the youth movement in the Taiyue area,promoting the development of youth movements in other revolutionary base areas,and making an important contribution to the nationwide youth movement and the struggle for victory in the anti-Japanese war.The academic research results on the youth movement during the Anti-Japanese War have been fruitful,mainly focusing on the Shaanxi-Ganjing Youth Salvation Society,the Northwest Youth Salvation Society,the Jinchaji Youth Salvation Society and the Jinsui Youth Salvation Society,etc.The research results on the activities of the Youth Salvation Society in the Taiyue Base Area have rarely been covered.By collating and summarising the historical archives and other materials collected,the author systematically composes the main activities of the Youth Salvation Society in the Taiyue Revolutionary Base Area,analyses the problems in the work of the Youth Salvation Society,and summarises the valuable experience of the Youth Salvation Society,which is of great significance to the development of youth group organisations in the new era.This article explains the background,organisation and evolution of the Youth Salvation Congress in the Taiyue Revolutionary Base Area.During the Anti-Japanese War,the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League reformed the early Communist Youth League and formed it in the form of the Youth Salvation Congress in the Anti-Japanese base areas and border areas.The Youth Salvation Society of the Taiyue Revolutionary Base Area was established and worked under the leadership of the CPC Taiyue District Party Committee after several organisational reforms.The main activities of the Youth Salvation Society were divided into four areas: firstly,economic construction,mainly including agricultural production,implementation of the new economic policy;secondly,armed struggle,mainly including youth resistance first,youth guerrilla struggle;thirdly,educational work,mainly including youth cadres,social and school education;fourthly,the organization of children’s group activities,mainly including propaganda,scouting the enemy,study,assistance in production.The development of the Youth Salvation Society has achieved remarkable results,with youths becoming more democratic,more motivated to produce,more literate,and the introduction of marital autonomy.However,due to various constraints,the Youth Rescue Society has revealed some limitations in its development,such as the inflexibility of its work and organisational methods,the negligence of some of its cadres,and the neglect of the vital interests of the youth.The study of the Youth Salvation Society of the Taiyue Revolutionary Base Area has provided us with many experiences worth learning from,for example,the development of the youth movement must adhere to democracy and unity,the development of youth organizations must adhere to the guiding ideology of Marxist theory,and the promotion of youth work must strengthen the construction of the ranks of young cadres,etc.,these experiences are worth learning.
