Study On The Youth League Of Western Shanxi Against Japanese And National Salvation(1940-1942)

Since its founding,Chinese Communist Party has had a close connection with the youth.After the North China Incident,in order to meet the requirements of the united front,the leaders of the Communist Youth League,taking the situation into consideration,decided to transform it into a mass organization open to all young people.Since the spring of 1936,the Communist Party of China has successively set up youth organization of resistance against Japanese aggression and national salvation in the northeast region,replacing the previous youth leagues with the banner of anti-Japanese salvation.After the construction of the united front of Shanxi Province,Chinese Communist Party relied on "Xi Meng Hui" and "the War Mobilization Association" for political mobilization,in the northwest of Shanxi successively set up the youth Clubs and the youth organization of resistance against Japanese aggression and national salvation.But the lack of links between different regions is not conducive to unifying the pace of youth work.Then,under the local party committees to actively promote,people in charge of youth work all over the country came to Lin County,they established the unified youth organization for national salvation in this area that plays a role of making plans,coordinating and standardizing all the work,guiding the direction of the youth movement,namely the Youth League of Northwest Shanxi against Japanese and National Salvation(abbreviated as the Youth League of Northwest Shanxi).After the "Qiulin Conference" in 1939,the "War Movement Association" was forced to withdraw under the reactionary sabotage of the diehard forces of Yan Xishan,and the youth movement was temporarily stalled.It was not until the establishment of the anti-Japanese democratic regime in the northwest of Shanxi in early 1940 that the youth work of Chinese Communist Party could be carried out in the vast world of freedom and democracy.The Party transferred a large number of young cadres from Guerrilla Zone in Southwest Shanxi to the northwest shanxi anti-japanese base area to the Youth League of Northwest Shanxi and changed its name to the Youth League of Western Shanxi against Japanese and National Salvation(abbreviated as the Youth League of Western Shanxi).On August 13,1940,the Youth League of Western Shanxi was formally established in Xing County.By the end of 1942,after three periods of construction and development,namely,establishment of rules and regulations,in-depth development and summary of experience,and metabolism,it had completed its historical mission gloriously.In a short period of more than two years,it closely linked to the purpose of "uniting and educating the whole youth generation",effectively promoted the establishment and consolidation of the party’s youth united front policy in this area.Under its leadership,teenagers actively joined the army to take part in the war and helped the Party and the government to carry out the political,economic and cultural construction.The youth movement developed vigorously like a prairie fire.In the second half of1942,the base into the most difficult period,the Youth League of Western Shanxi has exposed some problems,such as pioneer of socialism,inadequate supervision of the organizations under control leads to grandiose plans and poor implementation.Therefore,the Party combined it with the Women League of Western Shanxi,the Peasant Organization of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and National Salvation and other mass organizations into the Anti-japanese National Salvation Alliance,the vast majority of the former youth federation cadres were transferred to other departments to do general work,the Youth League of Western Shanxi completed the historical missionIn short,the Youth League of Shanxi against Japanese and National Salvation with "The implementor of the youth United Front policy proposed by Chinese Communist Party,the pioneer of the construction of the border region" role,united the young people.It promoted the transformation of "1+1 > 2" in the context of the Anti-Japanese War and national salvation and became the bond and bridge connecting the youth and the society,and the strong "fortress" uniting the vanguard forces.The historical experience of its growth and development has important reference significance for the reform and improvement of the Communist Youth League,the Chinese Youth Federation,the Chinese Students’ Federation,the Chinese Young Pioneers and other mass organizations composed of teenagers in new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
