Due to the limitations of Chinese tradition and household registration policy,a special group-rural left-behind children-has emerged in the process of urbanization in China.The absence of parents has led to a series of related problems for left-behind children in terms of study,life,psychology,safety,etc.The education of rural left-behind children plays an important role in rural construction and social stability,and their development can promote the development of all aspects of society.The Party and the state have issued relevant policies to strengthen the attention of the government and all sectors of society to left-behind children.Although the number of rural left-behind children is decreasing,the problems they show are still serious.This article attempts to improve the above situation from the perspective of the role of the government and solve the education problem of rural left-behind children,so as to effectively promote the harmonious and stable development of society.This article chooses rural left-behind children in Chengji Town,Lianshui County as the research object.With the increasing pursuit of a better life,the phenomenon of rural people in Chengji Town go to the city to work is common,resulting in a large number of left-behind children in towns and villages.There are also problems with parents’ marriage,which also leads to the emergence of many left-behind children.Through a questionnaire survey of left-behind children,guardians of left-behind children,school teachers and the local government in Chengji Town,it was found that the government’s role in the education of left-behind children there were found as follows: first,the government did not care and protect left-behind children enough;second,the government did not pay enough attention to the education of left-behind children;third,the government Financial investment in the education of left-behind children is insufficient;fourth,the government’s allocation of educational resources is uneven.Through on-the-spot investigations and interviews,it is found that the above problems are caused by the insufficient awareness of the government on the education of left-behind children,the unclear functions of the government in the education of left-behind children,the inadequate supervision of the government,and the lack of a long-term mechanism for the education of left-behind children.Through further in-depth interviews with the town government,some left-behind children,school teachers and social organizations,the shortcomings of the role of the Chengji Town Government in the education of left-behind children are explored from the perspective of public management,and countermeasures and suggestions are given to improve the role of the government: improve the government’s attention to the education of rural left-behind children;clarify The responsibilities of government departments are to improve the responsibility system;strengthen the government’s supervision of the education of rural left-behind children;and establish a long-term mechanism for the education of rural left-behind children. |
