Living is the basic needs of human life.China has always had the tradition of settling down and relocating.Paying attention to the behavior of rural residents is very important to the reform of rural homestead system, rural revitalization,urban-rural integration and urbanization. In the past decades, thanks to a large number of rural surplus labor force to work in cities,China’s urbanization construction and economic development have made remarkable achievements. However, agricultural population migration based on the transfer of rural surplus labor force also has the characteristics of more mobility, less settlement and instability. With the continuous improvement of rural living standards, new changes have taken place in the behavior of rural residents.Homestead system is a series of policies and regulations for the management of rural housing construction land by the state. The behavior of rural residents moving more or less has to deal with homestead, which is also regulated and constrained by the homestead system. It is the original intention of this paper to study the rural residents’ moving behavior under the restriction of homestead system,to understand the "where they want to go","where they go","how to choose" and "what factors affect them".This paper will follow the research idea of "raise questions-theoretical analysis-research hypothesis-test hypothesis-draw conclusions".On the basis of existing theories, through literature review, theoretical analysis, case study and empirical analysis, this paper analyzes the formation mechanism of rural residents’ rural migration behavior and the constraint path of Homestead system on rural residents’ rural migration behavior in depth analysis. The full text is divided into six parts. The first chapter is the introduction, which answers the questions of "what to study","why to study" and "how to study".Chapter 2literature review and theoretical basis, combing the existing rural residents’ relocation, homestead system and other related research, expounding the relevant theories, clarifying the core concepts, providing theoretical basis for the later analysis.Chapter 3 theoretical analysis, combined with the actual situation of our country, expounds the rationality and legitimacy of rural residents’ relocation behavior, puts forward the analysis framework of rural residents’ relocation behavior, analyzes the realization path of rural residents’ relocation behavior, constructs the model that affects the decision-making of rural residents’ relocation behavior, and puts forward the theoretical hypothesis. The fourth chapter is case study verification.Based on the field investigation of s Township in Hunan Province, this paper introduces the settlement phenomenon and behavior performance of s Township, and analyzes the rational decision-making process, the dilemma of homestead system constraint and the realistic choice made by rural residents. The fifth chapter is the verification of empirical research.Based on the relevant theories of population migration, this paper constructs the analysis framework of "general special" influencing factors of rural residents’ migration behavior under the restriction of homestead system, and analyzes the influence of different factors on rural residents’ migration behavior through binary logistic regression model. The sixth chapter is the conclusion and suggestions. It summarizes the research conclusions, puts forward countermeasures and suggestions, analyzes the shortcomings of this study, and further research ideas. The main conclusions are as follows. The case study found that the areas where the phenomenon of s rural settlement is prominent meet the different needs of rural residents, and the stability of rural residents’ relocation behavior is also different due to their life motivation or development motivation.Rural residents’ relocation behavior is a rational choice based on the degree of demand satisfaction, cost payment ability and institutional constraints.Among them, the basic driving force of rural residents’ relocation behavior is that the demand is not satisfied, cost payment ability is a necessary guarantee, and institutional constraints will also affect the target area selection of rural residents’ relocation behavior in varying degrees. The homestead system restricts the rural residents’ moving behavior in the aspects of land supply, transfer transaction and property rights realization, and inhibits the realization of rural residents’ moving will, resulting in the dilemma of rural residents’ moving behavior choice.Under the restriction of the homestead system, the degree of residential satisfaction and the ability to pay for the cost may drive the rural residents to use the rural informal rules to break through the restriction of the homestead system and produce the behavior of moving. In the empirical test, the number of years of local residence, per capita housing area, housing nature, housing satisfaction, cognition of rationality of homestead policy and actual effectiveness of homestead policy significantly affect the rural residents’ relocation behavior;the annual per capita income, housing expectation, housing satisfaction and policy cognition channel significantly affect the rural residents’ willingness to move;the number of years of local residence, housing satisfaction and policy cognition channel significantly affect the rural residents’ willingness to move The nature of housing and residential satisfaction have a significant impact on the rural residents who are willing to move.To sum up,this paper proposes to protect the reasonable and legitimate living needs of rural residents as the starting point and foothold, give priority to explore the reform path of homestead system in rural areas, break through the barriers of free flow of population and land elements in the rural perspective, release the vitality of elements, and boost Rural Revitalization.
