Research On Liu Zhi’s Philosophical Thought About Integration Of The “Tao” Into The “Islam”

The philosophical thought of The Islamic scholar Liu Zhi in the early Qing Dynasty is a typical example of the successful integration of Islamic thought and traditional Chinese thought.Different from the previous studies of Liu Zhi’s philosophy,which mostly focused on his "Confucianism",this paper chooses the perspective of Islam and Taoism to study Liu Zhi’s thought,and summarizes the characteristics of this integration as "integrating Tao into Islam"."Integrating Tao into Islam" refers to a new philosophical theory form formed by Liu Zhi by actively and consciously absorbing the concepts,categories,propositions and other ideological nourishment of Taoist philosophy in the process of interpreting Islamic philosophy.On the one hand,this new philosophy theory interprets Islamic philosophy with Taoist philosophy,deepens and enriches the connotation of Islamic philosophy,highlights distinct Chinese characteristics,and effectively promotes the process of Sinicization of Islam;on the other hand,this new theory form is also a creation of philosophical theory,expands the scope of Taoist philosophy,enhances the interpretation of Taoism,enriches the content of Chinese philosophy,and shows the contribution of Chinese Hui scholars to Chinese culture from one side.Through the in-depth study,we can see that in the process of constructing his philosophy,the core concept of "Zhen Yi" comes from the concept of the original Taoist(Lao Zhuang)thought;the "unnamable" in the pictorial thought also comes from Wang Bi’s annotation of Lao Zi Tao Te Ching;The epistemology of "intuition",the realm of time "respect things","virtual static" and the Taoist thought of "to the virtual extreme,keep static" and so on;the theory of "restore order" also comes from Laozi thought.That is to say,the concepts,categories and propositions of Taoist philosophy have a great influence on the formation of Liu Zhi’s philosophy.At the same time,in the process of using Taoist philosophy to interpret Islamic philosophy,Liu Zhi also pays attention to using Islamic philosophy to enrich and enrich the concepts,categories and propositions of Taoist philosophy,and to enrich and expand its theoretical connotation.To sum up,the formation of Liu Zhi’s thought is not only influenced by Confucianism,but also obviously influenced by Taoism.It is of great theoretical significance and contemporary value to study the philosophical characteristics of Liu Zhi’s "harmony to Islam".In theory,it not only expands and enriches the research horizon of Liu Zhi’s philosophy,but also helps to deepen the research of Taoist philosophy,and then helps to expand the research field of the philosophy of ethnic minorities in China.From the practical dimension,Liu Zhi’s philosophical thought is a typical example of the sinicization of Islam.The study of the characteristics of "harmony in Iraq" is an important ideological resource for reference to explore the sinicization of religion,which is conducive to forging the foundation of the community consciousness of the Chinese nation.
