| The research object of this paper is the common rhetorical question format in modern Chinese: "Na you zheme VP de".Based on the Three-plane Theory,this paper discusses the format in combination with the theories of language subjectivity,mirativity,idealized cognitive model,and politeness principle,etc.We will elaborate from the following six chapters:Chapter 1: This part mainly introduces the research object and research significance of this article,and sorts out the research status related to the format,and clarifies the existing research space on this basis,and finally makes a brief description of the research method and corpus source of this paper.Chapter2: This section examines the constituents of the "Na you zheme VP de" format.First of all,the constant item "na" can be regarded as an interrogative adverb in the format,expressing rhetorical question and indicating purely subjective negation.Secondly,a brief analysis is made on the meaning of the constant item "you" used as a predicate in this format to express "existence".Thirdly,discusses the semantic pointing,pointing function and phonetic performance of the constant item "zheme".Then,analyzes the part-of-speech problem of the constant item "de" and its function.Finally,the variable “VP” in the format is discussed,the composition types and restrictive characteristics are pointed out.Chapter3: This chapter focuses on the syntactic and semantic analysis of the format.At the syntactic level,focusing on the syntactic distribution,syntactic function,sentence class distribution and syntactic features of this format,it is concluded that(1)the syntactic distribution of this format is flexible and can be located at the beginning,middle and end of a sentence;(2)This format can be used not only as a sentence component,but also as a clause in a compound sentence or as a separate sentence;(3)This format is distributed in interrogative sentences and exclamatory sentences;(4)It has a syntactic feature that can insert multiple semantic roles between "you" and "zheme".At the semantic level,the semantic features of the format are analyzed,including negative meaning,subjective meaning,unexpected meaning and evaluative meaning.Chapter 4: This part investigates and analyzes the performance of this format in practical application,and shows the pattern of "1+X" in terms of pragmatic function,in which "1" is the evaluation function,and "X" is more prominent in different contexts,including complaining,refusal to suggest,comfort and civilities.The pragmatic value is manifested in economy of language,prominence of focus,politeness and impoliteness.In terms of genre distribution,it is mainly distributed in dialogic and narrative genre.When it is used in dialogue genre,the communicative status of the two parties in the dialogue is discussed.When it is used in narrative genre,its narrative type is analyzed.Chapter 5: This part conducts a comparative study between this format and similar formats.First of all,by comparing "Na you zheme VP de" with "Na you zheme VP " with similar forms,it is found that there are differences in the position of stress,the type of negation,the spatiotemporal attribute,and the purpose of negation between the two.Secondly,a comparison is made between " Na you zheme VP de " and " Mei you zheme VP de " "You zheme VP de ma ".The three are basically consistent in syntax and semantics,and show differences in pragmatics,specifically in terms of tone and emotion.The last chapter summarizes the main conclusions of this paper and points out the deficiencies of this paper,so that the follow-up research can be continuously improved. |
