Online social media has become an important social form in the new era,as well as an important means for college students to show their love.The presentation on social media can be either the real self or the ideal self,and different presentation s can play different roles in the establishment and maintenance of intimate relationships.This study intends to examine the relationship between social media authentic self-presentation and satisfaction of intimacy relationship,as well as the chain mediating role of online positive feedback and self-esteem.This study investigated 536 college students who have been in love for more than 3months.The survey included social media authentic self presentation,online positive feedback,self-esteem,and satisfaction of intimate relationship.The statistical software SPSS and the Process plug-in were used for data analysis,including independent sample t-test,analysis of variance,and analysis of mediating effects.The results were as follows:(1)College students’ satisfaction of intimate relationship,social media authentic self presentation,online positive feedback,and self-esteem were above the medium level.(2)In terms of gender,satisfaction of intimate relationship for boys were significantly higher than girls;There is no significant gender difference in the true self presentation of social media;Online positive feedback for girls were significantly higher than boys;Selfesteem for boys were significantly higher than girls.In terms of family location,there was no significant difference in satisfaction of intimate relationship,social media authentic self presentation,online positive feedback,and self-esteem among family locations;In terms of grade,there were no significant differences in satisfaction of intimate relationship,social media authentic self presentation,online positive feedback,and self-esteem among grades.(3)There is a positive correlation between satisfaction of intimate relationship,social media authentic self presentation,online positive feedback,and self-esteem.(4)The mediating effect of social media authentic self presentation → online positive feedback → satisfaction of intimate relationship is significant,with a mediating effect value of 0.049,95% CI=[0.025,0.079].(5)The mediating effect of social media authentic self presentation → self-esteem →satisfaction of intimate relationship is significant,with an effect value of 0.039,95%CI=[0.018,0.067].(6)The chain mediated effect of social media authentic self presentation → online positive feedback → self-esteem → satisfaction of intimate relationship was significant,with an effect value of 0.010,95% CI=[0.004,0.018].Conclusions:Social media authentic self-presentation affects relationship satisfaction through online positive feedback and self-esteem.
