As a document material unearthed in the Middle Ages,stone carvings of the Sui Dynasty can objectively and truthfully reflect the original appearance of words,which can help us better understand the language culture,customs and ideological characteristics of this period.The research on stone carvings of the Sui Dynasty mainly focuses on the interpretation of words,the study of rhyme,the traceability of ornaments and cultural exploration,etc.,and there are few works on the study of stone carving documents from the perspective of vocabulary,there are still a large number of difficult words and allusions in stone carvings that have not been correctly interpreted,and the use of stone carving materials in Sui Dynasty stone carvings by large dictionaries is not very sufficient.This paper selects the stone carving materials from the ninth year of Sui Daye to the end of the Sui Dynasty as the research object,examines and explains the difficult words and allusion words in the Sui Dynasty epitaph,and strives to show the use of Sui Dynasty epitaph words in the Middle Ages,so as to provide a certain reference for the accurate interpretation of Sui Dynasty epitaphs.Structurally,this article is divided into four parts.The first chapter,"Introduction",mainly provides brief help to the research object,research status,research ideas and research significance of this paper.The second chapter,"Interpretation of Difficult Words Carved in the Stone from the Ninth Dynasty of Sui to the End of the Sui Dynasty",is divided into two parts: General Words and Allusion Words.The third chapter,The Value of Stone Inscribed Words from the Ninth Sui Dynasty to the End of the Sui Dynasty,to the Revision of The Great Chinese Dictionary,mainly carries out comparative research with The Great Chinese Dictionary from five aspects:supplementary lost items,supplementary missing items,correction of improper interpretation,era of early illustrations and supplementary examples.The fourth chapter,Interpretation of the Dictionary of Stone Inscriptions from the Ninth Dynasty of Sui Daye to the End of the Sui Dynasty,analyzes the use of dictionaries in epitaphs,Including allusions from stories and famous sayings.Finally,the List of Words Inscribed in the Stone from the Ninth Dynasty of Sui Daye to the End of the Sui Dynasty is attached at the end of the text to facilitate searching.
