Research On Badiou’s Communism Thought

Alain Badiou(,January 17,1937)is not only a famous French philosopher and thinker,but also a leading figure in the "new communism" in academia.Based on Cantor’s set theory,Lacan’s subject theory and Althusser’s social revolution theory,Badiou extended the tradition of western Marxist critical philosophy.In the face of the failure of the "May Storm" and the rise of neoliberalism,Badiou still adheres to the tradition of revolution and liberation and actively explored the possibility of communism.Badiou believed that mathematics is the discourse to describe the existence,so he put forward the judgment that "mathematics is ontology",and constructed the communist thought based on the ternary structure of event-truth-body.In this ternary structure,the event occurs at the break of the situation.The truth program is the process of promoting the "not in" into existence.In the truth program,each independent individual can become the subject,so as to realize its own infinity.On this premise,Badiou reinterprets the connotation of communism.First,Badiou believed that the most important connotation of communism is "communism invariant",and he believed that the core of communism is the idea of pure equality.Second,badou put forward "communist hypothesis",he thinks history is a series of continuous,he put the "communist hypothesis" history divided into three sequences,and points out that we are now in the history of history,namely "the second interval",in his view,open the "communist hypothesis" the third historical sequence need to reshape the relationship between political movement and ideology.Finally,Badiou put forward the "concept of communism",he believed that only the combination of the three elements of "political truth,historical attribution and subjective subjectivity of individuals" can realize the "concept of communism".Badiou believes that the core of contemporary communism is the problem of local political experiment and innovation,that is,the problem of organizational form innovation.He advocated the use of "subtraction" to weaken the power of capitalism by constantly reducing the old situation.Badiou’s communist thought is helpful to criticize and reflect on western capitalism at the theoretical level,renew the banner of communism,and provide theoretical guidance for the "new communism" movement.At the same time,because Badiou regards the communist concept as an abstract view of equality,his communist thought is limited to some extent.
