| In today’s multi-media era,which is composed of various types of digital media,textual contents are constantly moving among different media,and audiences have gradually become accustomed to nomadizing among different types of texts.As a practice and trend in the age of multi-media,"cross-media narrative" was first proposed at the beginning of this century and has quickly attracted the attention of many scholars.Especially nowadays,with more fragmented textual information and more frequent migration,cross-media has become the mainstream of IP development.More and more organizations and businesses have started to take their IPs into different media,and they tend to be more multi-faceted than in the past when they were rooted in a specific medium,such as movies,animation,and games,and have formed a synergy by blossoming in each medium one after another.At the theoretical level,this paper compares the flow of images of pandas in various media.The analysis is made from three perspectives: usage scenario,visual style and media carrier.The paper summarizes the transformation of the application scene from "exotic cute pet" to "image endorsement" in China,the transformation of the visual style from"anthropomorphism" to "anthropomorphism This paper has also examined the transformation of the visual style from "object-like" to "human-like",and the transformation of the media carrier from "one single" to "a hundred flowers".In terms of design research,this paper first compares the research on cross-media narratives in IP development,and analyzes the potential of IP development in the context of the current situation of Chengdu Panda Base.In terms of design exploration,this paper created an IP image design for the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding that is based on "transmedia" and features personalization and strong interactivity.A series of design materials including three different visual images,Unity online chat room program design,mobile UI design,poster design,packaging design,folded page design,red packet design,etc.were produced.The aim is to try to develop an innovative way of IP image with the thinking of interaction design and brand design and "cross-media narrative". |
