Study On The Application Of Paper Marbling

According to the literature,"paper marbling" could be traced back to the Tang Dynasty.But since then,it was not well developed in Chinese painting art.Nowadays,in order to explore a new style of painting,many artists made concerted efforts to study the experimental ink painting.The painting form of this technique came back to people’s vision.Paper marbling is just a painting technique based on water.When ink falls into water,it naturally forms texture changes.After getting into contact with this painting technique,the author quite preferred this painting method without rigorous composition and layout.This paper chose "paper marbling" as the object of study.Firstly,the literature survey method was adopted to deeply understand the origin of "paper marbling" and its spreading process at home and abroad.Based on the unique artistic characteristics of this technique,the material selection was analyzed.Therefore,the author could be very handy in creative practice;Then,the specific application of "paper marbling" in Chinese paintings was analyzed,and the spiritual image and aesthetic image presented in the paintings were summarized,which gave them a metaphysical meaning.Finally,with the understanding and contact of "paper marbling",the materials collected from field investigation,sketching and the accumulation of daily life experience were sorted out.Combining the aesthetic elements and creative conception of contemporary forms,"paper marbling" had been tried to be applied to a series of fine brushwork paintings of the author,presenting different artistic conception of the picture.This opened up new ideas and new methods of personal painting and broadened the innovative development path of "paper marbling".
