"Wind and Rain Return to Pasture" is a representative work of the Southern Song Dynasty cattle themes. After combing the relevant information of "Wind and Rain Returning to Pasture",this paper holds that this painting may be a copy of Li Di’s original work by studying the form and implication of the painting. Its features of both panoramic style of the Northern Song Dynasty and panoramic view of the Southern Song Dynasty should be attributed to the works in the transitional period of the two Song dynasties,in which a shepherd boy rides an ox and rides against the wind and rain and returns to his home without hesitation. It accords with the Confucian spirit of "doing something when you know what you can’t do" and highlights the Confucian thought of "righteousness" and "benevolence".
