| Cyberpunk films, which emerged in the 1980 s,have attracted a large number of fans from scholars and audiences for their more avant-garde,heterogeneous themes and thought-provoking philosophical motifs, and have gradually entered the scope of study of mainstream cultural perspectives, especially after the 21 st century. In cyberpunk films, elements such as body recombination and genetic engineering are introduced in large numbers and combined with the human soul, mind and spirit to form countless cybernetic bodies. This type of body form is used to express the imagination of future human existence through the medium of existing advanced machines. This realistic imagination not only promotes the harmonious development of human and technology, but also in a sense raises the concern about the engulfment of life by technology. The research theory of this paper is based on the relationship between technology and the new human form in the post-human era.The text of this study is the existing cyberpunk films, focusing on the form and narrative mode of the body in cyberpunk films. In addition to exploring the impact of the technologicalization of the body,we also focus on the confusion of human identity and anxiety about technology conveyed through the body in cyberpunk films. The first part of the paper briefly traces the philosophical origins of the idea of the "body" and describes the feasibility of analyzing the body in cyberpunk cinema. The second part analyzes the body as a narrative object in cyberpunk films, showing the different positions represented by the different bodies in cyberpunk films. The third part is about the body as a narrative discourse in cyberpunk films, mainly from three aspects:the technical body, the gender-ambiguous body, and the cultural body, and the analysis of the different meanings represented by different bodies in cyberpunk films. The fourth section focuses on the body narrative approach in cyberpunk films and analyzes the body narrative devices in cyberpunk films. The fifth part focuses on the analysis of the thematic idea of the body in cyberpunk films, rising from the body to the discussion of identity, and the revelations for humanity. It deals with the more important question of how much control our bodies are capable of having,in other words, how far we can accept the boundary of relinquishing control. |
