"Boneless method" is one of the traditional painting techniques of Chinese painting,which emphasizes "conceal the bone line and draw it with color".Compared with the traditional painting technique of "modeling with line","boneless method" mainly uses ink block and color block to shape,emphasizing the application of ink and color in the picture.In the development of Chinese painting,the "boneless method" was mostly used in flower-and-bird painting.In figure painting,Liang Kai of the Song Dynasty applied the "boneless method" to character modeling.Ren Bonian of the Qing Dynasty pushed the boneless figure painting to its peak,forming a school of freehand figure painting which has been influential to this day.Chinese figure painting experienced great changes in the 1980 s.The exchange of Chinese and Western cultures produced a multi-cultural context,and artists’ aesthetic concepts and forms of expression had new changes.They explored deeply in composition,tools,materials,techniques and other aspects,absorbed Western painting concepts,and promoted boneless figure painting to present a flourishing situation of a hundred flowers.For example,Tian Liming,Zhou Jingxin,Liu Qinghe and other painters put the "boneless method" into full play in figure painting,forming a variety of natural,written and grotesque painting languages,which greatly enriched Chinese painting.This thesis studies the "boneless method" in ink figure painting,taking the definition of "boneless method" as the entry point,and combs the development of "boneless method" in figure painting.Secondly,this thesis lists the works of representative artists who have made contributions in this aspect as case analysis,and discusses the expression form and characteristics of "boneless method" in figure painting.Finally,combined with my own practice,the author discusses the influence of "boneless method" on the creation of the author,and concludes that sticking to the study of traditional painting techniques will play a key role in the innovation of painting language of ink painting figure painting. |
