The Society for Itinerant Art Exhibitions is a very important school in the history of Russian art in the second half of the 19 th century. Its wide influence not only laid a foundation for the development of various painting schools in Russia, but also had a profound impact on China’s oil painting. As a part of European critical realism in the 19 th century, the Peredvizhniki is also a loyal supporter of realistic painting. It is actually inextricably linked with the seemingly incompatible romanticism. Both of them are consistent in terms of the expression of painting language, the conception of picture plot, and the thought and spirit they want to express.
