Understanding And Application Of Plural Overprinting In Woodcut Prints

Plural and indirect are the linguistic characteristics that distinguish prints from other paintings.With the development of modern and contemporary printmaking art,the language characteristics of modern semantic printmaking are no longer limited to the plural and indirect nature of conventional meaning.In the printmaking works exhibited in recent years,there is no lack of works of art that expand and reinterpret on the basis of the language of printmaking.Based on the presentation form of plural reproduction in printmaking has become an important topic of printmaking creation,this paper focuses on the expression form of plural overprinting of woodcut printmaking.The author is to explore the block print reproduction overprinting the manifestation of the expression of print language,understanding and summarize this form for the significance of the development of print art,the second is based on the understanding of block print reproduction block printing of block reproduction practice,summarizes the practical application in the work.At present,no lack of creators have expounded the necessity of the printmaking language expansion from the perspective of concept,so the author mainly explains the feasibility and possibility of the plural overprinting of woodcut prints under this theory from the perspective of creative practice.After entering the graduate stage,through the appreciation of excellent printmaking works and a lot of practices,the author found that although woodcut printmaking is a version with a long history,it can also be used as the carrier of modern printmaking language and maintain its unique texture.Overprinting is more free and changeable than traditional prints in printing and matching prints,so the process of related creation needs continuous attempt and self-improvement.Because "printing" is the main means of multiple overprinting of woodcut prints,it is particularly important to summarize the experience of creation and printing process.The printing techniques of various editions are similar,so in addition to the overprinting,the author also incorporated the overprinting of mimeographed prints and watermarking prints into the creative practice,so as to form a more unique creative language,broaden the creative concept,improve the print creation techniques,and enrich the practical significance of woodcut print language.
