| With the rapid increase in the number of international students in China,the demand for practical Chinese language has become increasingly prominent.As a kind of Chinese for special purposes,Chinese for Science and Technology takes Chinese as the language carrier and science and engineering knowledge as the main content,which is a key language tool and prerequisite for international students majoring in science and engineering to carry out professional learning,and the ability to read Chinese for science and technology is a crucial indicator affecting the professional learning of international students majoring in science and engineering.At present,the academic circles have a slight shortage of research on the cultivation of reading ability of Chinese for science and technology,and there is still a large research space.As a Double First-Class university focusing on science and engineering,Chang’an University has considerable influence in the education of international students and the teaching of Chinese for science and technology,and its teaching mode and existing problems of Chinese for science and technology are representative in the whole country.Taking international students majoring in science and engineering of Chang’an University as the research object,this paper examines the current situation of Chinese for science and technology teaching and the current situation of Chinese for science and technology reading of students majoring in science and engineering in Chang’an University through literature research,interview method and questionnaire survey method,discusses the factors affecting the Chinese for science and technology reading ability of international students,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for improvement,in order to enlighten the improvement of Chinese for science and technology reading ability of international students majoring in science and engineering in China.The full text is divided into five parts:Chapter 1: Introduces the research background,the definition of Chinese for Science and Technology,the purpose and significance of the research,the literature review and the theoretical basis of this paper.Chapter 2: Through the method of interviewing teachers of Chinese for science and technology,this paper discusses the current situation of science and technology Chinese teaching in Chang’an University,and analyzes the existing problems in the teaching of Chinese for Chinese teaching in Chang’an University from the observation points such as teaching objectives and principles,curriculum setting,teaching content,course implementation,testing and evaluation standards,etc.: 1.The curriculum is scattered and the class time arrangement is small;2.The content of the teaching materials is not strongly targeted;3.The course test content and evaluation standards are single.Chapter 3: Through questionnaire survey method and interview method,investigate the current reading status of Chinese for science and technology of international students majoring science and engineering of Chang’an University,and analyze the factors affecting the reading ability of Chinese for science and technology of students majoring science and engineering of Chang’an University: 1.Vocabulary and grammar knowledge level of scientific and technological Chinese.2.Basic knowledge level,study effort,study habits,etc.of international students.3.The degree of importance that colleges and universities attach to the teaching of Chinese for science and technology.4.Whether the professional course teachers have crosscultural teaching experience,the standard level of Putonghua,and the differences in teachers’ Chinese character handwriting styles.Chapter 4: Based on the survey results of the current situation and reading status of Chinese for science and technology teaching in Chang’an University,six suggestions are put forward on how to improve the reading ability of Chinese for science and technology of international students from the perspectives of curriculum setting,textbook preparation,teaching method selection,teaching testing and evaluation,Chinese for science and technology teachers and international students: 1.Attach importance to scientific and technological Chinese teaching and optimize curriculum settings.2.The arrangement of textbook content should be targeted and rigorous.3.With the help of modern scientific and technological means,pay attention to language skills training.4.Teaching testing and evaluation standards are guided by teaching objectives;5.Teachers of Chinese for science and technology should improve their knowledge of science and engineering.6.Improve the awareness of independent learning and enhance the motivation of international students.Conclusion: This paper summarizes and reflects on the research ideas,research methods and research results,and puts forward expectations for further research on Chinese for science and technology teaching. |
