With the continuous improvement of China’s influence,the number of overseas Chinese learners is rising rapidly,and the trend of younger learners is obvious.Affected by epidemic factors,more and more Chinese teaching institutions carry out online teaching.Teachers need to change the classroom management mode to adapt to the current online teaching.In the face of these frequent classroom problem behaviors of young learners,and the current online classroom management is limited by various factors,how to optimize teachers’ classroom management strategies to improve the efficiency of online classroom teaching has become an urgent problem to be solved in online teaching.Taking the Chinese language class for Chinese American children in yimanfen Education Technology Co.,Ltd.as an example,the author,in combination with his own teaching experience and the curriculum arrangement of the institution,selects two courses with different course lengths from the main courses of the children’s class,and selects two classes with different teacher experience for each course.Each class carries out classroom observation for one month,Students’ problem behaviors and teachers’ reaction behaviors were recorded by using the Exeter scale adapted student problem behavior observation form and teachers’ reaction behavior observation form.The classroom observation results found that the current online Chinese classroom problem behaviors of Chinese American children are universal,special,class differences,and closely related to the length and frequency of teaching.Teachers’ reaction behaviors have obvious single and centralized coping strategies The proportion of non-verbal responses is unbalanced,and online teaching experience is insufficient.In order to further understand the underlying reasons behind these problematic behaviors,the author designed a teacher interview to further understand teachers’ online teaching experience,class teaching status,teachers’ zero tolerance behavior,the effectiveness of current coping strategies and the use of important auxiliary classroom management tools.Then,according to the classroom observation and interview results,the author analyzed the four main factors that affect the occurrence of problematic behaviors,namely,students,teachers,educational services,and cultural differences.And put forward the coping principles and solutions to the current problem behaviors from the two aspects of teachers and institutions.Finally,select typical cases of classroom management failure from classroom observation,and give specific improvement suggestions in combination with the coping principles and measures proposed above.
