Leos Carax is a very talented director who has been active in the French film industry since the 1980 s.He is loved by fans because of his unique realistic theme expression and poetic image style.In 2021,he worked on a new song and dance film again after nine years,and won the 74 th Cannes Best Director Award in one fell swoop.His works,from "boy Trilogy" to "Annette",are deeply favored by the film manual and professional film critics in the world.His image style is unique and impressive,which has attracted countless fans.Carax’s film works are similar to the poetic realistic films of France from 1930 to1940 s.There is a certain inheritance relationship in creative theme,theme expression,image style and poetic expression.And he used grotesque performance to create his own unique film atmosphere.On the basis of inheritance,he completed transcendence and formed Carax style film charm.Including the latest film Annette,Carax’s works show a lingering poetic flavor,both the expression of the theme of realism and the humanistic care for the youth at the bottom.This paper mainly studies Leos Carax’s films from a comparative perspective,discusses the similarities between Carax’s films and poetic realism,and demonstrates that the formation process of the director’s style is affected by poetic realism and Carax’s Transcendence of poetic realism.The full text is discussed from four aspects.Firstly,the first chapter explains the creative process of Carax film,which combs the creative process of the director and the influence of the French "new wave" and the new generation of French films on the director’s creation.The second chapter discusses the theme expression of realism in Carax’s films,which is divided into two aspects: the depth of social reality and humanistic care.The third chapter studies the poetic expression style of Carax films,and puts forward the poetic narrative style and "black" expression style.Finally,the fourth chapter discusses the origin of Carax’s film style and the inheritance and development of poetic realism in the French film world. |
